Mel's Diner — Restaurant in Smithville

I use to love Mel's when I when I was younger so I decided yesterday to go back to Smithville to get me some Mel's, I was excited. However, I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I know alot will think maybe they were busy and that they where just over worked, that wasn't it, the place was almost empty. I went with my boyfriend who is black, not only was the staff rude but the customers wouldn't stop looking and pointing. I have never been so uncomfortable. Now, let's get to the nastiest Cheeseburger I have ever ate. The bread was soaking wet, with I don't know what, and the meat was no where portioned to size. However, the fries were good. Me and my wife have been waiting to go here for the last three weeks and we finally got to…… they were closed the last two times we tried to eat here we were really excited about it and we were both let down the waitress was nice at first but didn’t really want to do anything as the service went on when she asked how the steak was my wife said it was okay and I was very hesitant about telling her that it wasn’t the best that I’ve ever had and that’s were it went down hill she made some very rude comments and I said I definitely wouldn’t be back I wish I could have remembered her name so I could let the manager know how rude she was and that she needs to fix her attitude if I could I would give...

The food is really good. The salad bar, one of the best you are going to dine at.

However sticky tables and the slowest order to table ever. Expect at least an hour to get your food. Also don’t bother calling to place an order they take the phone off the hook.
