All I can say about this place is I wish I could have given it zero stars, and I will tell you why. My family and I went there this past Sunday to have the all you can eat buffet. First I will say of the four bites of food that I was actually able to eat everything tasted very similar. Watery and loaded with Accent. For those love you who don't know what accent is for it is a flavor enhancer also known as pure - monosodium glutamate! Within 4 bites of this bland tasting food, I knew I was going to have an issue. Now I can eat out at any other restaurant and even if there is MSG in the food it by no means reacts the way that the 4 bites of food that I ate at the Barn restaurant this past Sunday does. I quickly brought it to our waitresses attention that I had only been able to eat 4 bites of food and that I would like her to take this off of my bill as I am not able physically to eat their food. She was kind enough to remove my food and then watched me the rest of the time that we were there so that I did not eat anything. When I motioned for her to come over to the table for refills of our beverage I then asked her if it would be possible for me to order something from the menu upstairs and have it brought down to me so that I could eat with my family and not just sit there and not be able to eat. She came back a few minutes later and said no I'm sorry that's not possible we cannot do that. Never have I ever been at a restaurant that could not accommodate a customer's request. It would have been so easy to order something from the menu upstairs in the sit-down part of the restaurant and have them bring it down to me or I could have even went up and got it and brought it down but instead I was refused. My husband and son sat at ate their meal and said that it was very bland! When we went to the register to pay our bill, the young lady asked if everything was okay. My husband said no that we had an issue. She said how could we make it better? His response was you can't make it better you would have to change all of your recipes! I mean that was really a very classy way to say what he couldn't really say. But I also laughed inside too! After explaining to the young lady about the enormous amounts of MSG in their food, she apologized and we were on our way. The best thing about this place was the lake outside and the adorable geese and ducks. Now don't get me wrong you might love this place but if I'm going to go somewhere it's not going to be here, so if you have a sensitivity to MSG or just don't want a bunch of chemicals in your food then I think I would choose someplace else to go there are plenty of other places. Try...

This review is strictly for the buffet- I have to start off saying that we hadn't been to the Barn restaurant since the 90's. WHAT A CHANGE!!!!!!!!!! The food- The food was some of the worst we've ever had at a buffet. I had better hospital cafeteria food. Seriously, disgusting, horribly prepared, poor-quality food. The salad bar had many items but most of them tasted package, canned or not cooked well. The rice in the heavenly hash, which is just fruit, whipped cream and COOKED rice, was crunchy. How difficult is it to cook rice properly. Even though we arrived 10 minutes before the start of the buffet some of the vegetables seemed dried out. The macaroni salad, and potato salad were over the top with mayonnaise and really no other flavor. The main supper buffet consisted of dried out chicken, stringy tough roast beef, soaking in water, potatoes that had some weird substance, like eyes all throughout them, small chunks of ham soaking in water, overly fried fish (from a box), shrimp, some with tails, some without, again fried to the point of being difficult to recognize what it was and corn and green beans with NO salt, pepper or butter. There were some other items such as dressing or stuffing that had the taste of a cheap off brand boxed mix. (If you're going with boxed stuffing, Stove Top would have been a better choice.) Over-all- We're still in shock how this place has changed. The price for dinner for three was $69 without tip. From the young girl continuously going around stirring everything to the tasteless ice cream, cake that had a mediciney taste we were all about half sick and still a little hungry when we left. We will never go back again! And will warn all our friends and family to do the same. Post note- It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was over half empty the entire time. That should have been...

We went to do the food buffet not just salad bar on 3/7/25 first time with it most time we just go upstairs to salad bar, needless say last time to. For 22.00 a person drink not included it was awful. Start with food..mashed potatoes was so dry , the noddles had no juice in them at all so they was dry to n some hard, meatloaf no flavor at all but ketchup on top. Food was not worth price really. Service omg . The lady that was spouse do nothing but take plates fill ur. Your cup was awful. She filled our cups to start with, but as time went we put our cups at end table to show needed filled. After bout half hour she finally says " o you need more water" and walked away. Another half hour went by and she on ither side filling everyone's cups, now she was going to go water to fill ours. She then walks back to back and for hour we didnt see her. Finally she shows with water in hand, but walks right passed us to table behind us and filled cups. Then walks right by us didnt even look over at us like wasn't there. So, I got up took our cups up and asked another lady if I can get water. Looking at me funny she did. Now get this, about 10 mins later she comes with water even tho our cups are full now n tops them off. She then gos back to where drink station is and all other are stand point at us , hand n head in motion. As they all try so hard to look at us. Needless say if you did your job I wouldn't hard to, and if ur going run your mouth bout ur customers that's why you don't get tip. Id never even go for that part again. I'll stick with up stairs I never had a...

The Barn Restaurant & Buffet is one of those rare places that feels like home the second you walk through the doors. The warm, rustic charm of the barn setting makes for the perfect backdrop to enjoy a hearty, comforting meal. From the moment we were greeted, the staff made us feel welcome, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely happy to have us there. The buffet is simply outstanding—there’s something for everyone. Freshly prepared dishes line the tables, from perfectly cooked meats and creamy mashed potatoes to crisp vegetables and an amazing salad bar. Everything tastes homemade, like it came straight out of a family kitchen. The fried chicken deserves a special mention—it’s golden, crispy, and full of flavor. The dessert section is just as impressive, with pies, cakes, and cobblers that taste every bit as good as they look. What sets The Barn apart is not just the quality of the food, but the feeling it creates. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything, from the cooking to the atmosphere. It’s a place where families gather, friends laugh, and memories are made. Truly a gem worth visiting again and again.

We enjoy the Barn Restaurant, but go only once or twice per year. It is very popular, and people from near and far. If you go on the weekend, be prepared to wait for a table. You can't beat the atmosphere. In the heart of Amish country, you dine in an actual barn, that was once used farming purposes. I almost always get the soup and salad bar. I've eaten off the menu a couple of times, and find the food just average. Not bad, but nothing to get excited about. The salad bar has lots of options to choose from. They keep it very clean. Someone is always there to tidy things up. The soups are chili, vegetable beef, ham & bean and chicken noodle. When you are finished with your meal, you can stroll outside. Lots of opportunities to walk, especially around the large pond that adjoins the restaurant. The pond is replete with various waterfowl, and vending machines to purchase food pellets for them. Their is also a mini mall that offers a bulk food store and a great toy store.
