El Azteca Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Sneedville

$ Very inexpensive meals. Excellent portions and fantastic service. Their iced tea is excellent. Beyond that, I'm afraid I can not say anything good at all about the food. We have eaten there several times, and I have always withheld reviewing in hopes that we could get at least one good meal. I'm sad to say that is not the case. The food is extraordinarily bland for Latin food. The salsa tastes like it came from a very inexpensive jar. The chips are thick, never really fresh, and simply mundane. My bean burrito was literally like a can of refried beans in a soft tortilla covered in unseasoned tomato paste. My beef taco had absolutely no flavor. Literally, like fried hamburger, slapped into a crunchy shell. My wifes enchilada tasted like canned tomato sauce without the usual taste of canned tomato sauce. As I said earlier, we have been here no less than 5 times...hoping. I GIVE UP.

IF you're used to flavorful Hispanic food, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND...

This was genuinely one of the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve tried. It bills itself as “authentic,” but the food is bland, chips are stale, and the service was bad. The rice, guacamole, and beans all taste almost metallic and were cold. The sour cream was spoiled as well. The chimichanga was actually just a giant flour burrito that was rolled so many times it was just like eating flour…very little meat was inside. Someone came by our table once to refill drinks and that was it. The lady who checked us out was nice, though. The queso and salsa were good. We were the only people in the restaurant and we were in there for almost two hours. The prices aren’t bad, but will definitely not...

Worst experience I have had here for the 1st time eating at this establishment. I ordered a carintas meal and all they gave me was tortillas, rice, bean and pork. They forgot my lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese that was clearly stated on the menu, I had to ask for them. My family and I spent $60 for lunch that would have been better somewhere else. Won't be back again! I also told the person at the counter about my experience. He acted like he really didn't care what I said.
