Great place for carnivores, but not vegans. At least the beans and rice are vegan, when other Mexican restaurants add chicken broth or butter to their rice. Grateful La Flama's rice was free of animal products. A rare treat.
I ordered the spinach enchiladas without cheese, which was the only dish I could find that I could make vegan. Everything else had meat! See photo for portion size and amenities. It usually comes with black beans, but when I was there for lunch, they did not have black beans available. All was tasty and I left satiated.
The salsa is mostly a soupy mildly-spiced tomato sauce with a few pieces of onion and cilantro. Tasted fine, but I prefer a salsa with more body and chunks of tomatoes.
The service was friendly, yet very slow when I wanted to check out and leave. The food arrived quickly and the wait staff was attentive to my needs. They are willing to make adjustments to accommodate dietary restrictions.
I felt safe from the virus with how they distanced everyone at tables far apart from each other, and the wait staff wore masks and...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place is great, basic quesadillas are super cheap. Me and the wife can get takeout and eat for $17 including an appetizer. 3 Grilled chicken quesadillas and a chorizo-queso is only $17. The staff is incredibly nice. The only complaint I would have is that sometimes they seem understaffed, but I really wanted to write this review to respond to Mrs. Bullock. The woman who left the 1 star review.
I dont know if she is lost but this is a restaurant, not a place to complain about how unclean you keep your house. If the owner is your landlord im glad he got you out, because it looks like you were covering that house in mildew due to lack of ventilation. The people at this restaurant have been nothing but nice to the community and have kept their prices low so that the people of Snow Hill can have an affordable place to eat. Everyone report her 1 star review because it is not something google should allow when it comes to someones lively hood....

I ordered the Chimichangas. I figured, trying a place for the first time, get something easy to make and hard to not do right.
They succeeded in not making it very tasty, or very well, and the price for what I received was too high. It was a $10 meal.. in which I received a large spoon serving size of rice, about the same of refried beans. Those were "ok", but the portions were insanely small. The "Chimichanges" weren't really Chimichangas. They were hard flavorless lumps of chicken that weren't shredded, wrapped in flour tortillas. Almost a deep-fried chicken wrap, but I think a chicken wrap would've...
