I play golf 7-15 times/month and this is one of the worst places I've come across. This place has some of the worst staff in the county who are dishonest, petty, and miserable. I last played here 8/31/21 after trying to make it work with their oversold $30 membership.
Since 8/31, I've played a total of 35 rounds with yesterday, 1/26 being my first time returning to Lomas.
Things started well, as one of the staff who has given me a hard time in the past was actually very kind. I played my round, shot my score, and stopped by the pro shop to discuss my membership status as i had paid for my round through GolfNow.
I have 4 or 5 different memberships and they all come out automatically. Lomas lost that privilege with me during 2021 when they charged me 6 membership fees in 4 months, so the card used for them is off by default. The overcharging was eventually sorted out, but yesterday put the icing on the cake.
Upon inquiring about my membership, I was told it had fallen behind. Again, no surprise as I hadn't been to Lomas in almost 5 months. I will say maybe I should have officially paused the membership, but membership is moot when the staff seems intent on starting your round off bad and overcharging for memberships.
The young man told me I owed 2 months worth of membership to get reactivated. I said "okay, sounds good." The young man then went to a back room and verified with his 'manager'? Upon returning, he said "yep, it'll be the $60 to get you going again." I asked the young man to charge the card on file to which he laughed and said "it's been declined 7 times bro." This isn't surprising to me as I turn cards off all the time, but I play along and produce another card. I swiped my card and couldn't believe what came next.
As soon as the card was swiped, the young man tried to charge ANOTHER $30, and have me begin a whole new sign up. 1 month memebrship is $30, so this idea would have me pay 3 months to get ready to pay for next month.
This is nothing short of dishonest and disrespectful and has inspired this review. Since my first round here in April '21, this staff has not learned how to treat other humans and it's really quite sad. With the membership this place is $10/round and I still couldn't bring myself to come...
Read moreVery disappointed with this course. I have been a member here on multiple occasions and most recently for about 7 months. I had a friend book a tee time online for 4 players. I was unaware that he had paid online, through their own website, not a third party site. When we showed up to check in I let them know that I was a member and wanted to see if I could get reimbursed for my green fee. Or at the very least get the free beer that comes with every members green fee. They told me there was nothing they could do. He even asked the manager who runs the course and has for probably 20 or more years. He was sitting on the couch watching tv and told me there was nothing they could do. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. Maybe cancel one player and let me pay right there. Terrible service for a member.
Aside from that I really enjoy playing this course and have been met with great service every time. I can’t be the first instance of this. They need to figure this out. From 5...
Read moreI'll admit. This was my first course. I've loved playing here in early morning. I'm still getting a grip on the game so playing executive courses like this are a lot of fun. I've improved so much and being able to come play a round in a few hours. There are a lot of fun tee box shots. The trees are great. I've been playing for over a year now. I'm 40. I'm not expecting to shoot par. But I have made a few here. I even finished with three the last time I played. You cannot be the price for the early round of golf. On fresh greens. I would only say having a yellow ball when it's fall and overcast in the morning makes it easier to follow. Go play a round, you can walk it if you chose, I think you'll have...
