I had a great experience at Déjà Soul! The food was delicious, clearly made fresh to order, and full of flavor. The ambiance was beautiful, especially considering the limited space — they made the most of it and created a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. One of the standout moments was how the owner personally took the time to walk us through the menu, explain the hold times, and ensure we felt right at home. That level of hospitality really made a difference.

That said, there are a couple of areas where there’s room for improvement. There was an automatic 20% gratuity added before the food even arrived, which felt a bit premature. Also, while I understand the use of styrofoam plates might help with cost, switching to real plates for dine-in guests would definitely elevate the experience. The portion sizes, especially for the entrées, could be more generous considering the price point.

Overall, the food was amazing and the pricing was reasonable. With a few small tweaks to the presentation and portions, this place could easily be a 5-star experience. I’m looking forward to coming back and seeing how they...

This was a great find! Really, really nice vibe inside, the service was the best I've ever had, and the food... Oh, the food is so damn good! You can sample every single side they have so you know what you're getting before you commit. They love sharing their love, so you'll probably get some extra samples for good measure. All the meat is cooked to order, so you're going to wait for it, and there's nothing wrong with that. This is not a quick stop or something that can be easily delivered, so be prepared before you order! It's totally worth it, though, and it doesn't feel like it's that long when you've got samples. I will definitely be coming back and bringing everybody I know! Each day has a different special along with staples that'll leave you full and happy. Chicken and waffles, po' boys, spaghetti and catfish (seriously, order it. You'll be glad you did), and so much more. Go enrich your life...

The first time I came in here I was amazed did this place had already been open for months and I didn't know about it. Since then I've been almost everyday at least three times a week if not 4 or 5 days a week. They have the best fried catfish, the poor boys are amazing. I'm fond of the shrimp but I have to tell you the chicken poor boy is probably the best chicken sandwich in town. Everyday of the week There's a different special everyday and I got to tell you I've had everything that they serve and my waistline is now showing it. This is a family-run business. The mom and the older son is in the back cooking and Dad and the younger son are working the front of the house they are such a great family I just got to know him since I've been coming in there. They truly care about their food and the customers I am so glad to have this business open...
