JJ Fish — Restaurant in South Bend

This place opened up only a block from me. Has more fish options than chicken. I opted to try the chicken strips, a pretty safe food at any restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the spices they add to them, it quickly made this place a favorite of mine. Not the cheapest but the portions are good, shout out to the guy working the front, I see him there every time I go, no matter the time, he's a good worker. Only downside is the clientele, its a poor neighborhood so the guys working are putting up with bs more often then not when I come in. Not a place you wanna hangout and not really a place you want to get fish from. JJ's carries a solid name in the area but this location is lacking that same level of distinguishment.

The fish was thin, over cooked, and under seasoned. The fries were soggy and unseasoned. The bag stunk the car up the whole way home meaning fish was by no means fresh. And I'm not a coleslaw fan but they forgot to add slaw to both meals which they're supposed to come with.

Patrons were friendly but staff was disinterested.

The Michigan St, South Bend, Indiana is always good the fish, chicken or whatever you order is always hot and the portions as well as your frries are a plenty you definitely get your money's worth, the food never tastes like it's been cooked in old grease, i can't say enough good things about this location and if you call ahead the food is always ready and there are always enough condiments available all i have left to say is go see them and check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed!!!Best catfish in town fried to perfection that's my favorite!!!Customer service is always great...
