My dad's fifth wedding, or sixth...I'm not sure anymore, was held recently up in PA. It started off bad because my new step mom is younger than me. Fortunately, it was around 10 in the morning, and I drink a lot, so I was already buzzed enough to deal with this train wreck. The wedding was nothing exciting, my dad's oxygen tank got knocked over by his best man/probation officer, but that was the only real highlight. I was getting drunker by the minute.

The reception was fun though, albeit kind of depressing since my new step mom was already drunk before I got there and grinding all over the DJ. I looked over at my dad expecting to see hollow disappointment, but he was smiling. It took me a minute to figure out why: he was eating a piece of the cake that Jen made. Despite the fact that my dad just signed half my inheritance away to a person that probably isn't old enough to remember the Backstreet Boys, he was able to be happy while his blushing bride sang along to Khia's "My Neck, My Back." He was happy because Jen Yeomans-Christy makes an insanely delicious cake. So thank you, Jen. Thank you for making my dad smile on a day that would have made men with lesser cake in their mouth want to eat a gun.

My family and I have been enjoying Jen's creative kitchen and baking mastery for several years now!! She has made us everything from an orange and pink, zebra-striped, 21st birthday cake and matching cut out cookies, to a Nintendo gaming system, a Doc McStuffins cake and matching cut out cookies, too many dozens of cake pops to even count, Easter cut out cookies, Christmas cookie platters and my personal FAVE- her Raspberry Linzers (are to die for!!!), there is nothing she can't do. One thing that I will forever remember about Jen and her dedication to her craft is the day I arrived for an order pick up and she was working on a wedding cake. The Bride had ordered a "Messy" country/primitive cake with burlap trim, etc... Jen is such a perfectionist that I had to mentally help her NOT make it perfect! I have never in my life met a person that can artistically create just about anything out of icing and fondant... in addition, the flavor and texture is above any other! First and foremost I want to say that Jen is not only a fantastic baker/artist she is a fantastic person. She made my husbands groom cake and it was absolutely perfect. My husband doesn't like cake so I knew it would be a challenge to find something he would like and Jen was the perfect person for the job. My now husband LOVED the cake!
