I had brunch at the greenway at the hefty price of $45 per person (I assume it was more expensive because it was Mother’s Day). The outdoor ambiance, where we sat, was lovely. There were lots of kids playing around (to be expected), but we were surrounded by lush grass and trees strung with pretty lights. The food was pretty disappointing. At this price point, I was expecting something a bit… more. There were classics, like bacon, eggs, and potatoes, but also more “creative” selections like lobster bisque, baked salmon, and prime rib. I think having multiple “fancy” food selections incurred a “quantity over quality” issue, because the prime rib and salmon were completely overcooked, and pretty much everything else was very basic (except the bisque, which was a standout). The grits were devoid of any sort of seasoning. Like I mentioned, there were many kids enjoying the buffet too, unfortunately that also meant lots of bare hands grabbing at items like pastries and desserts, some hands picking items up and putting them back. I suppose it’s to be expected with a buffet layout, but it did make me wary of choosing certain things. The beverages were okay. Coffee, water, and tea were included. No sugar for the coffee, though. I enjoyed spending time with my family during the event, but it is not a good value or great quality. I think if some of the mediocre fancy selections were removed to give basic brunch items more attention, they could lower the price to be more reasonable for what is served. I might go again for a snack on a regular day, but please skip the specialty brunch. There are many other better options for that...
Read moreI stopped for brunch today. There's a decent selection of items to choose from. The house made bacon is just weird. It's thick sliced and has more of a texture of being dehydrated, rather than baked or fried. It's just chewy, with no real flavor to speak of..a bit disappointed. I did like the mac n cheese and a smoked sausage with peppers dish. The omelet station was nice, however when I arrived the cook was supposedly getting fresh egg. There was a container of whole eggs for fried and other similar preparations. She arrived back with a container of maybe fresh eggs, but for all I know it came out of some cartoon, with a pour spout. I know this is the case everywhere. I just like to see that my eggs actually came from an egg. The roasted salmon and prime rib came in at the end and ended the experience on a high note. Would I go back? Maybe if I had other greenway activities planned, but not...
Read moreI've been debating on posting this review for a while now, I have to just say that I had one of the worst experiences ever at the Gateway canteen. Aside from taking forever to be greeted and seated our food was dry and bland we politely asked for some items that would make the food enjoyable and the amount of attitude we received was pitiful seemed like we, the customer were a bother just to be sitting in the section. Its felt a little racist if you ask me. Drinks took forever and even longer for a simple refill. My son pointed out a Roach on the ground and that wasn't even the straw that broke this camels back. When we told who I assumed the manager on duty was, they waved us off in dismissal. This was outrageous and I will never ever come back to this establishment. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for being like this ESPECIALLY being in the customer...
