El Alteño I & II Taqueria — Restaurant in South Carolina

First off the lady running this place is awesome,friendly and knows her food. I ate inside the restaurant and not at the taco truck that is parked beside the building,I guess the 2 in the name is in reference to the taco truck???

If your looking for chips n salsa and rice you will be disappointed because they do not offer them here. This place is all about the tacos and damn they are good. I ordered chicken and azada tacos and they were the best I have had to date in SC (sorry La Estrella),the only disappointment was they do not offer shrimp tacos. I wish I would have known about this restaurant sooner,but now that I do know I will be a regular when in the area.

If you like authentic Mexican street style tacos ,do yourself a favor and stop...

The food was AMAZING!!! They do not offer chips and salsa I portion size was good definitely a good value When checking out we discovered the price on the menu was NOT the price we were charged! When we asked about the difference we were told they changed the prices. So we were like you have to charge the advertised price and the lady asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. Small [family-owned?] authentic Mexican-style restaurant with relaxing and comfortable environment, well-dressed and fresh-ingredient food, and classic dishes. Unfortunately cannot remember my order - however I took my mother here for Mother's Day and the food as well as prices didn't disappoint. I would recommend for any outing or general get-together.
