El Jimador Bar and Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

This place has changed owners. The restaurant is still very pretty but that's the only kind thing I can say about it. We ordered a horchata, a fresa for our toddler and a blue margarita with a sugar rim, and corrected the waiter Pablo twice after he said salt before he left the table. He comes back with 2 horchatas and a water. About 15 minutes later, he came back with the blue margarita that had a salt rim. My husband politely reminded him that it was supposed to be a sugar rim, and then the waiter took the drink. He came back in less than 5 minutes with a "corrected" drink. Checked the rim and acknowledged it was correct. Just before I went to take a sip, I noticed something floating in the drink. I'm not sure what it was only that it didn't belong there. The drink sat on the table untouched, and the waiter Pablo didn't return for some time. When he came back out, again about 15 minutes had passed, and he was carrying a beautiful blue margarita with a flower and even put a blue berry on top. We had not yet pointed out the issue with the drink, so it was super weird for him to come out with this drink. My husband said the waiter mentioned seeing something in the drink, and that was why he came back with this one. So apparently, this guy saw it and still decided to leave it on the table for us while he went to make a new drink. The drink sat untouched. Everything about the meal was ruined from that point. This review is ONLY for the El Jimador on Pearman Dairy Road in Anderson, SC. I have not been to others and cannot vouch for them.

Let me sum up my feelings for this El Jimador in one sentence: I DON'T EAT MEXICAN FOOD ANYWHERE ELSE!

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff, who are especially fond of children (and my 3 LOVE them!). After being seated, you get the best fresh tortilla chips around, and three sauces automatically - NO ONE ELSE DOES THIS - and the white sauce is as addictive as crack!

Next you have the only difficult part of this experience, and that is choosing from all the great food. I haven't ever gotten anything bad in the many times I have been here, but I am especially fond of the Santa Fe Nachos or any of their fajitas. Once you have decided, your food will quickly be out to you, hot, fresh, and delicious!

You will receive great service throughout - better get used to hearing, "my friends, do you need anything else?!" Drinks stay filled, extras of anything you need are brought out before you even ask, and the waitstaff will be around whenever you need.

I rarely go to any other Mexican restaurant (and never by my choice), and every other one I go to just makes me miss El Jimador. It is the best Mexican restaurant in...

OMG we totally love this restaurant. My sister's and I frequent it quit often. As a matter of fact just today I treated my daughter to a birthday lunch at El Jimador because her and her husband loves this restaurant too. First off is the smell of that awesome food yummy 🤤🤤🤤 walking in and the people, the people are the best. I don't know who owns it but whomever does can be really proud of the people that work there. Okay the food, oh man what can I say about the food except WOW 😯😯😯. The food is so full of flavor and fresh ingredients and so authentic. The portions oh there's a lot of food for the price, you would not be disappointed. Oh yeah the drinks right on spot. The best margaritas and pina coladas I have ever tasted IMO and the price of their everyday specials on cocktails the best, the very best 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Just took my son-in-law for his birthday lunch here. I can not even describe how amazing the people who run this place and work there are, they're totally, totally amazing. They always, always treat us like family. The food, of course the food is always awesome and plentiful. I would recommend El Jimador on 28 bypass, Pearman Dairy Road to anyone and everyone.
