We have been wanting to try M&J for some time. Finally went last night, this will be a one and done. When our food arrived at the table we had no silverware. I tried to get the server's attention, didn't happen. Had to get up and walk around and ask where the silverware was located. The best part of my salmon dinner was the toast and potato. My wife had the chicken strips... Tough and over cooked and stringy. The coleslaw tasted old. To top it off, the person reloading the Salad bar was Not using gloves and was digging into containers bare handed and placing items in the trays. We didn't get the salad.

Went for breakfast with a friend, absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and everything was cooked to perfection! I was blown away by the size of the pancake (literally the size of a pan)! Everything was top-notch! More so the service was great and the atmosphere was both unique and inviting, with regulars enjoying meals around us. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The food was good, the service wasn’t. My waitress wasn’t busy but she forgot our waters, sauces and got our order wrong. Never came back to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything. I also got weird vibes from her. Props to the kitchen staff though, my food made the experience decent. I may came back just for that awesome sandwich and cheese sticks!

I have been coming here since I moved backed to Lyman. Had a great experience and the food has always been great. Bartenders and waitress's have been awesome until I came in one Thursday night and a bartender named Kristen ruined it all for me. If she's not on her phone, then she'll be attentive to your order, otherwise forget it. If she doesn't know you and your not a regular, then forget getting anything. I just went to the restroom and when I returned, she seated someone else in my seat and didn't bother asking if I minded. So the people I usually talk to when I visit M & J's were beside me previously and she just took the liberty of moving me 2 or 3 seats down. So I couldn't talk to the friends I had made there. I guess she thought, well if you move it, you lose it type of thing. People like that are rude and opinionated and should not be aloud to serve people who are nice and trying to establish a new patronship for a place they like. It's like they are trying to run you off because they don't know you. I like M & J's. I used to frequent there a while back all the time when I lived near by. Back then the owners used to be there, and you could say something to them, but now, kids run it and they do whatever they want to. It won't be long till a few more people who haven't been there before or in a little while will see and start spreading the word about what nights are the best for customers to be treated and what nights are the worse because of certain individual employees. Eventually, it will work out. But it takes management to be there to make it happen. I hope management can make a change, because this is as close to prejudice and profiling people as I have ever experienced in my life. I hope they prepare for the next visit so I can show everyone what goes on and have video footage next time. Then people will see. I really don't want to push the issue, but sometimes it takes a video to show managers and owner's what goes on when they are away. Kind of a wake up call. It will help them in the long run to only employ people who care and want to make them a profit to help get new customers and grow. Hopefully, if they can make the necessary adjustments and training for the kids that serve the people who work hard and tip well, then I'm willing to change my review to a 5 star. Because that's the way it's always been until I got profiled and berated by one individual who only serves regulars and not anyone who could potentially become a regular. It's like a members only club with her. I just don't understand...

When we arrived it took a good 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. Once they did, we were brought cold crab legs, no butter, no utensils. We waited and waited until finally I decided to get up and get our server who had apparently forgotten about us. Once she came to our table, she began crying and said that she got distracted because she just received a phone call that her son was in the hospital (Why are you still here??). We told her we were sorry that happened and we continued to wait. Finally, we got hot crab and utensils, still no butter. Then, our server came to our table and said she was going to leave to be with her son and someone else would be taking care of us. No one ever came, so I had to flag down another server. We asked for napkins 3 times until I ended up having to get up and get them myself. By the way, our server never left, she was just waiting on other tables. My husband never got his corn and potatoes either. When we had enough, I went to the bar to pay and told the gentleman that we had an awful experience. He said it wasn't his fault and grabbed another server to speak to me. She said they were short staffed and it wasn't her problem if the service was bad because they were trying their best :-/ I asked for a manager and she said there is no one in charge but she can call and have me speak of the owner over the phone. So I did (weird). He was incredibly rude, he said we got crab therefore we had to pay for it. He said that they serve til 10, so we had plenty of time to sit and wait. That would mean being there approximately 3 hours! I told him I didn't want to pay for this extremely terrible service and he said if I don't, I will pay Spartanburg County. $80 down the drain and we will never set foot in that...

Perfect all around good food dine in was great friendly service i eat there once a week I'm dropping a star because the last couple of times I've ordered food to be picked up the person who is the bartender/ pick up order personal/ server , had been rudely having me and another person wait say least 8-10 mins to pick up our food instead she pours drinks , giggles laughs with the patrons at end of the bat a mother guy walks in place an order mean while the lady on front of me hadn't gotten her order I'm standing in the way of other servers getting drinks And carrying out food orders . Then she looks at me for the 3rd time started to make another drink but decided to see what food I had ordered . I pay and leave but the woman that was in front of me still was waiting for her to put condiments with her order so she could leave . I love the food there it's so convenient because I'm literally a stone throw away but the service at the bar for picking up orders needs to be looked at and only that particular personally when I see that she's there behind the counter I would rather not even go in. And just a suggestion move the waitress drink station so that it's not coming out of the kitchen where customers are waiting on pick up orders that may be blocking the pathway or on busy Friday nights customers not sit at that end of the bar reserve that space for...
