I dont normally take the time to leave negative public reviews but took an exception with this one. We came here over the weekend for dinner since its one of the only spots on the island open to the public for dinner - I agree with the other comments that it's a captive audience and they know it - they are consistently busy because they are one of the only options for dinner and their prices reflect that. First off, it's marketed as a restaurant but it's more accurately described as a dive bar that serves a few food options - they only had maybe one or two actual crab items. Second, my husband ordered a Diet Coke at the bar and the bartender poured him a Jack and Coke and charged us for a Jack and Coke. He doesn't drink so he took the drink back and nicely asked the bartender to replace it with what he ordered. Her response was, "Heaven forbid we give someone a drink with alcohol in it." 😳 Actually, yes... this is a problem. This is one of the only if not THE only place on the island open to the public for dinner so not everyone is there to get sloshed. What if you served an alcoholic beverage to someone struggling with addiction or alcoholism who didn't order it and is trying to stay sober? My husband told her nicely that she made a mistake on his drink order and she was rude about it. There are other reviews on here too about rude bar staff. I get that its hard to find and retain servers and bar staff right now but what we experienced was unacceptable. For a $60 dinner for two fried shrimp baskets on a cardboard tray, a cesar salad with a packet of dressing and two drinks we will gladly haul a cooler over on the ferry next time to save our money and avoid this place 🤷♀️ Take that massive profit from charging people and arm and a leg for bar food and use it to pay a wage that attracts decent front of house staff... I will say it has a nice view and the Scrap Iron was good but those are the only...
Read moreTypical Bar atmosphere. Great and Go if you want to go to a bar, not for the food. We ended up here because we went on Monday... Most of the island is closed which we didnt mind but it limited our food choices to here. We had an amazing day but would not go back to eat here. We asked for what would be their best suggestions food wise as we wanted to try the local specialties. Some hemming and hawing and we were told about the the Deviled Crab appetizer. So we ordered it and the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and hot dogs. I was not impressed with the deviled crab appetizer and I love crab, would not order this again. Thought it was expensive for its size too. Definitely only big enough for one person. Two if you just want a little tiny something. My tacos were thrown together and not unique. I really didnt enjoy them and I LOVE good food. Did NOT love my tacos, tasted my mom's shrimp tacos they were better but not something I would search out or go back to. Kinda just wish I got the hot...
Read moreHow it is supposed to work: You order food from the bar, they give you a buzzer, you wait for the buzzer to go off and flag down the person bringing the food out.
How it worked for us: Ordered food, got buzzer, waited 45 minutes, flagged lack of food. Server finally comes out with 1 of 10 things we ordered, yelling something indistinct while she walked around. When she came close enough, I realized the guttural cry was my name. So we flagged her. We notified her that we hadn't gotten the rest of our order. She showed us the receipt that had 1 thing on it. Then she proceeded to get nasty with us for not recognizing her version of my name. Even though she was carrying a much smaller order than ours was supposed to be. And even though this was supposed to be a buzzer system.
By the end -- and this is no hyperbole -- she told us to get hearing aids.
Just an amazing experience all around. Thank God for the one bartender who realized they had messed up our order and...
