Serafinos — Restaurant in South Carolina

Been coming here for years. Friday I stopped in after a late day at work for a beer and carry out large pizza. I've received pizza after its been out and sitting on the oven before and requested on 2 occasions relatively recently, please bring my pizza as soon as it comes out. It was slightly busier than previous, 2 or 3 dine in tables that I saw. Lots of go orders waiting, and a women who came in and out of the side door several times ordering for now, for pick up at 9pm and pick up for Saturday. Anyway i was sitting at the bar with a perfect view of the pizza oven. A guy sitting beside me chuckled outloud, when I said I didn't want another beer, because "it's too nuts in here" he had been experiencing slow service. Anyway, what turned our to be my pizza came out, with the white receipt stuck in the box and was placed on top of the oven. Why? I was right there. It sat there at least 15 minutes in my face. Finally she ask kitchen for my pizza and sat it on the bar. I picked it up, felt the bottom and it was barley warm, even though it was sitting on the oven. I said to her, this pizza has been up there at least 15 minutes. She said, has it been that long, I replied yes. She offered me a free desert, pre cut in a box. I turned it down, disgruntled and left. As I was was getting up She said, oh, well ok. And went back to her phone order. Earlier I had asked her to let me pay, so I paid before I was sure that was my pizza. The point is not the place was busier than normal. I heard her tell many people, the kitchen is short staffed. It did take a long while to prepare that pizza. I figured that when I went in. There is no reason when that pizza was done, it did not come out to me immediately. Why place a pizza on the oven when the customer is sitting thete staring at it. She was the only server, order taker, cashier etc, but that is 100% normal. But that pizza should have come out for her delivery as it was boxed and cut. I walked out, my hand underneath barley feeling any warmth. I live 5 minutes if that away and had a bite as soon as I got in. The cheese had already congealed/set up and was already tough. No strings of cheese here, just tough cold cheese. I waited through the weekend to write this as I was so mad. Out of neglect my dinner was ruined. Not to mention left overs the next day from a large pizza. As I've had to request my pizza not sit on the oven and be brought out to me immediately before, I felt this time I needed to mention it. If I ask it to be held, that's 100% on me. Ordered at 6:30pm for carry out. They told me 15 -20mins. I got there a little after 7pm.When I got there they had a bunch of orders lined up on top of the oven in back. After it taking a few minutes to even be addressed. I paid for my order and verified that it was the four cheese white pizza. After a few orders came in after me said they called in and walking right out.I noticed they were pretty much taking orders off the top of the oven in order from right to left, finally ive been waiting about 15minutes, with several employees from the kitchen looking at the order do I finally get my pizza. It was the first one on thw top of the oven meaning it should have been first out and was one of the orders that had literally been sitting the whole time i was there. I finally left the store at 7:30pm with a barely warm pizza. First two slices tasted pretty good. but then my husband complained his slices tasted sour so i took a bite of another and it was sour. So disgusting. I used to love this place when I lived off Burcale from 2010 to 2013. But they took away the stuffed shells and spinach dip I used to eat. I tried the Spanakopita one time when they didn't have spinach dip and it was not good. ive had this dish many times at a couple different Greek Festivals and its normally something I Love. The wait has always been ridiculous but after today im not going back. They have taken my favorites off the menu, marked up prices ( which i understand) but today's experience put me over the top. 16.52 for a pizza that i called for at 6:30 and didn't even walk out with until 7:30. Everything we've had here is great! And the service is amazing. We have been here for dinner a few times, but the last time we visited was just a couple days ago. I can't remember our servers name, but she was very sweet. I ordered a build your own calzone and she accidentally entered the wrong ingredients. It was an honest mistake, so I appreciated her correcting the order. But in the meantime, my husband and kids got their food and were eating without me. So she was very accommodating and kept asking me if there was anything she could get me while I waited. The other server Whitney asked me also, but I said no because I was sharing some of my husband's plate. So Whitney asked if she could get my kids dessert while I waited. Soon after, my food came out, my husband got to share some of my calzone and my kids had some chocolate cake. So it was all good. I could tell both servers were trying very hard to keep us happy, and we were. We've always had great food, great service, and we will continue to go back. That simple little mess up was not enough to keep us from coming back. They both surpassed both mine and my husband's expectations.
