This was our first and LAST visit to Sole on the Green in Clemson. We both ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt. Both drinks arrived with no salt rim and they tasted like very sour water. Didn't even come close to tasting like a margarita. I sent mine back and the salt application looked like it was applied by hand and mix was added to the drink. Neither of us could taste any tequila. I ordered the black and bleu steak salad and my partner ordered the bbq nachos. We also had an appetizer of jalapeno and mozzarella grit cakes. If there were any jalapenos in them then they must have been microscopic in size. Our meals were ok, but the bbq on the nachos was put on the chips with lots grease which made the chips soggy and inedible. Most of the bbq was in large chunks, some of which contained large pieces of fat. After our meal, that was not great, we decided to continue torturing ourselves with coffee and dessert. Chocolate cake was tasteless as was the creme brulee. After we paid the bill of $78 we felt extremely ripped off. Before we left we each went to the restroom where it was dirty and no toilet paper - just a roll of paper towels in front of the toilet. After getting home we both spent the evening and ALL night in the bathroom. Something we both ate or drank made us extremely sick! If I could rate this place 'zero stars' I most certainly would! Update: It has been almost 4 days since we both ate at Sole on the Green and we are finally...
Read moreMy mom, grandmother and I decided to dine with Solé after the football game on Saturday. We were greeted with a decent atmosphere with dark lighting. We decided to order the black and bleu burger, pulled pork sandwich with a salad/coleslaw and the chicken fiorentine with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables. The burger had a small hair in it, was overcooked, dry and had no sauce and the fries were limp and soggy. The pulled pork was dry, burnt and had no flavor with a average vinegar based bbq sauce. In terms of the salad, the cucumbers were old and the coleslaw tasted spoiled. The chicken fiorentine was dry and had bland vegetables with mashed potatoes that were just okay. For dessert we got the triple chocolate cake which was dry, bland and tasted like it wasn’t made in house. We also got the key lime pie which had too much of a crust and not enough filling/not enough lime flavor. The server was okay but she brought cold, stale coffee which was frustrating. We asked to speak to a manager and one never came. My grandmother said if she could rate this restaurant she would give it a zero. She would like to come show the chefs how to make a real burger. However, I think only Gordon Ramsay himself could save this...
Read moreNo one greeted me on arrival, I had to find a hostess, waitresses just walked past me. Hostess seemed like she didn't want to be there. Waitress was great, friendly, smiling, food was good, but waitress stopped coming by to check on me. Finished my meal, no waitress. All other waitresses just passed by. My waitress was all over the place except my table. Then, 25 minutes later, she sees me from across the room, runs to my table and apologizes multiple times for forgetting me. Offered me a free to go drink. That was funny, but probably all she was allowed to offer. She continued to apologize, which I accepted. But it ruined my entire day. It was my first trip to South Carolina, and I was left with a bad taste in my mouth because of Sole. This was a couple of weeks ago, and I was staying at the Inn. Considered not posting, but you can only learn from mistakes if you...
