*Update: The owner writes snarky and rude responses. He clearly can’t read his own receipt. I won’t be back because your food is also overcooked with no seasoning, flavor or taste. The only reason you’re still open is because of the older people who come there and their taste buds are use to that bland, dry food. Initial review:They put your food in bags and tape it, but don’t give you your correct order. I ordered a sweet tea and a water. Just got the water in the bag. Won’t be back. Receipt says a sweet tea and a water. They wrote 2 boxes and 1 water. The order cost $30 and food is expensive these days. Don’t WASTE your money on this nasty food!! Do not come here go to Blue Bay, better food and customer service.

Love the combination platter & coleslaw!!! All my kids like eating here, great chicken fingers & fries for when they decide to be picky. This place stays PACKED!!!!! If your wanting to dine in you better get here before they open because you'll have to park on the other side of the road and walk. If your wanting to call in an order for pick up don't get aggravated because the line is constantly busy. The only way to make sure you get thru on the phone is call & hang up back to back to back to back. As soon as you hear the busy signal hang up and call back. Great food & worth the wait, that's why everyone is here including you! 😀

The food is typically fantastic, and service as well. The oyster stew is acceptable. Sometimes, the oysters are a bit overdone, and they aren't always properly cleaned. The waste sacs are sometimes left in. They have a tendency to mess up orders if you ask for your main course to be cooked a certain way. If you ask for a rare steak, it will probably be overcooked. Or if you ask for something to be extra crispy or well done, chances are you'll have to send it back to be corrected. Service is typically fantastic; no complaints about the employees. They do try their best to be kind and accommodating to their customers.

My first and last time to visit The Flounder. Eight in our group. One in our party ordered shrimp. The waitress was asked if the shrimp had been deveined and was told, Yes, it had been. Shrimp came & Not deveined, so waitress said she would replace with deveined shrimp, which she did. But 1st she asked the customer to place the incorrect order of shrimp on a napkin, so waitress could return it to the kitchen. Wow, that was SO improper. Crude. Customer asked for baked potato(cost 50 cents more) instead of fries. Of course she was brought fries. The waitress TOOK THE PLATE BACK TO THE KITCHEN so the fries could be returned, then her plate brought back to table with the baked potato. Again improper procedure. Never pick up a plate or glass & take away from table. This place is CRUDE. Same person ordered a salad instead of slaw, they brough slaw. At least she didn't have to put slaw on a napkin. Brought salad on a small saucer, waitress was asked for a bigger plate(so she could mix the salad up), since they had run out of clean salad plates. Then another person ordered salmon stew, which was full of salmon skin!! Skin should be removed before making the stew! Waitress brought a Go-Bowl so stew could be taken home. (so they could remove skin in order to eat the stew) waitress came later to table & asked for the empty bowl, they had run out of clean bowls. Is that ignorant or what. Hey owners, order more bowls. Or as tables are cleaned off, if running low on plates or bowls, Wash them. Very disappointed in this place. Waitress very nice and she did a good job. We were charged extra...

My boyfriend and I were here on 7/17/24. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice - it's a fish camp so you kinda know what to expect. The food, however, was really... not good. My boyfriend got white fish and calabash shrimp that had no seasoning. It was very blah. He got a baked potato with cheese - the cheese wasn't on the potato - it was like it was thrown on at the last minute and they missed. He also ordered fish stew which he really enjoyed. I ordered the shrimp and oyster combo plate. The shrimp and oysters were decent. The fries and hush puppies were fried in the same grease so they tasted weird. And the coleslaw? That might be the absolute worst coleslaw I've ever tasted in my life. It looked like white vomit. We will never go back.

ETA: in response to the owners reply - I'm so sorry you found this suspicious - I just moved here recently and we ate here based on a recommendation. Had never been there before and didn't know anything about the white vomit coleslaw. It's my fault I didn't look online and trusted the recommendation - never again. ...

  • BEWARE BEFORE YOU EAT HERE*

We came in and had a party of 10 so they sat us in a big booth and a small booth across from the big booth since their tables were full. When the waitress was talking our order we told her who was on who’s bill since there was suppose to be 4 different bills (normal practice when you go with a group) When the waitress brought our bill out she put 4 orders and a togo order all on the same bill. When we go to pay for the bill we told the lady at the register the waitress put us all on the same ticket and we needed the meals separated and she said, “she couldn’t separate the bill the only way she could split it was in half.” The waitress made a mistake and I was forced to pay for everyone because she wouldn’t split the bill up. She should have canceled the order and redone it. It wasn’t my mistake it was the waitress mistake. Everyone was paying with a card so getting my money back from everyone ain’t as simple as it would be if we was paying with cash. This is a poor way of doing business. What if I didn’t have the money to pay...
