The Pauline Cafe — Restaurant in South Carolina

I lived in San Antonio for a few years. While there, I fell in love with breakfast tacos. Until I found Hwy 56 Cafe, I simply got my taco fix when I went back to Texas for work or to visit my wife’s family. Lyle Lovett once said, “never eat Mexican food east of Mississippi, or north of Dallas.” Normally I agree with this, as there just isn’t any place around here that serves anything remotely like I had in Texas. I’ve been let down by so many establishments that were supposedly authentic. Just remember, if the tortillas aren’t homemade, it isn’t authentic.
