Only because my waitress was unprofessional and petty.
Today went with a group of workers. When she came with our checks I specifically told her to pay $2 in cash for that bottled water and run the rest of my order on my debit card. Note I asked for water expecting a cup of water not after top purchase but hey, whatever. She came back and told me in front of EVERYONE my card had declined. When in fact I showed her my account and that there is money in there. She said they would try again, only to respond with it declined again. My coworker paid for my meal which I was thankful for but wouldn't have happened if the waitress did as she was instructed. Then she looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her my $2 back. DUH!!! That was money from my order which you rung up incorrectly! Then she tried to keep the change when the $10 my coworker gave her and my order was $8. When I asked her for it, she didn't go get it she told me to go to the window and get it. Her pettiness comes in with her comment to me as I walked to the window, "can you please leave our pen?" As if I want to steal your pen because I didn't let you STEAL my change, TWICE.
I hate I had this experience and I'm torn on whether not I'll visit this location again. It's closer than Rivers but I don't want to financially support...
Read moreVery authentic and delicious Mexican food! I've lived in SC for 7 years (military) and this place is as close to Northern California Mexican food I have found. You know this place is good when I am the only white guy, the menu has lengua and cabeza and the Corona's are poppin! They were pretty quick with my order even though I ordered 8 different tacos and 2 quesadillas.
The tacos are how street tacos are supposed to be: 2 corn tortillas filled with meat of your choice and topped with chopped onion and cilantro side of lime and radish. This place me homesick. The order process is kinda awkward but once you figure it out it's not bad. The take out order window is actually in back and then they call your name when it's done. You can eat in too but it is outdoor covered seating so might not be the best depending on the weather.
Overall I was happy with my food (the chips were literally cooked when I ordered them), the price was good and the service was quick. I just found my go to...
Read moreHonestly, the building is a very small shack, very dirty looking and only outdoor seating....most of that could be overlooked. However, the food was tasteless (which is usually the norm for true, authentic Mexican food) our waitress spoke NO English which, you're working in America as a waitress...bad idea. The menus were in all Spanish. I know a good bit but one sandwich said to include (translated) as Cabeza Pollo....chicken head. People need to know what they are ordering!! We were charged $3 for bottles of soda...still in the bottles. Not kid friendly, I had a 3 year old and an 8 month old along with my 19 year old and 9& 10 year olds. No highchairs. Only barstools. So it was 100° outside, we had to sit outside while we ate and I held an 8 month old and controlled a 3 year old. And had bugs crawling everywhere. MISERABLE experience, bland and questionable....food???....extreme heat and no help from anyone who spoke English. Will not...
