First visit ever to Westwood BBQ and it was worth it!! Not disappointed with the food, service or atmospehere for such an unassuming place! Everything is simple, from the building itself, to the decor to the food, all in a very good way. But don't let that simpleness fool ya, the food is mighty delicious!! The service is super good too -- our drinks didn't get a chance to get empty all during dinner and all so friendly!! There are several different menu items, if you don't want the buffet, to choose from at reasonable prices. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet, so if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. We got the buffet this trip, so that's all I can truly review... The buffet has hash n rice, 2 styles of minced pork (vinegar or mustard based); Lima beans, cabbage, corn on the cob, mixed baked beans, green beans, homemade baked Mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole, hush puppies, fried & BBQ chicken, ribs, fried chicken livers & gizzards, -- I think that's the highlights. There were a few other items that I can't remember... Everything was cooked perfect and hot! The minced pork, both bases, was very good and reminded me of my grandparents' family BBQs! Moist, tender and very flavorful, both types would be delicious any way you choose to eat them! They didn't even need any extra sauce that was on the table. I liked the hash even though it wasn't as good as my Granny's, it was one of the better recipes I've found since her passing. And them was some big ole ribs, tender and tasty! My personal favs were the Lima beans & that cheesy, gooey baked Mac n cheese! Oh and them little high puppies...mmm, mmm, they don't even need butter! There are dessert offerings but I can't tell you what because I didn't have room for any!!! I heard other diners mention banana pudding, brownies...not sure what else. After gorging ourselves like we shouldn't have, it was time to pay......for my husband who had sweet tea & myself who drank Coca-Cola, the total bill was less than $20. 😮😮 So, if you want delicious food, great service in an easy relaxed atmosphere, drive on out to Westwood...
Read moreClean, quiet, good Southern barbecue and chicken( fried and barbecued), with all the trimmings except for hush puppies, rolls, and cornbread. The tea was fresh and cold - very good. The only bread were slices of loaf bread in a sort of cookie display container that one opens and uses tongs to retrieve a slice or 2. It is a buffet - self serve. The line can get pretty long but it moves along smoothly and fairly quickly. The waitresses are on the move constantly- refilling cups, and taking orders from the menu, and serving. The chicken is delicious- some of the best. Hubby had the chopped barbecue . He said it was very good. There are various sauces on the tables if you need to use some. There was one tv and it was on a sports channel. It was not distracting though😊. We sat at the only small table available and it was a little wobbly but tolerable. One of the servers could tell this was our first visit and she was very kind about letting us know where everything was and the normal procedure. There were various desserts- I had some of the cherry cheesecake and hubby had the banana pudding. Both were very good. The waitress said I could take out my small piece of chicken I had left over without any problem. The slaw was delicious too. There was no salad. So come prepared to eat Southern country. Also there were pickles that were so good. Corn on the cob, Lima beans, green beans cabbage- Mac and cheese, baked...

They have ribs and hash as well as chicken on the barbecue menu. And it wouldn't do to have a southern buffet without delicious fried chicken along with a super selection of veggies, hush puppies ,salad bar and too many desserts to mention. They also have a killer barbecue sandwich that can take care of a man size appetite. Take out is available in plates or larger quantities. The prices are reasonable .Their location is convenient (actually )ON HWY 151. Perfect distance from both Myrtle Beach and Charlotte, N.C. . The atmosphere leaves much to be desired and the restrooms are nothing to write home about. However the service is great, the sweet tea perfect and you can choose a booth for one or two or have a table large enough to seat your whole clan. Open 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 P.M. THURSDAY -SATURDAY AND 11:00a.m.-2:00 p.m.SUNDAY. I recommend it as an excellent ...
