Star Family Restaurant — Restaurant in South Centre Township

I went there to meet a friend for lunch but I couldn't tell you anything about the food, because I waited so long to be seated, even after two waitresses looked right at me, that I left! There was no, "we'll be right with you" or "welcomes to Stars". No, I was completely ignored! If this is how you treat everyone, then don't expect to be in business very long. I live out of state and am able to visit usually once a year for the Fair, and when I eat out, try to eat at non-chain restaurants, but this is one restaurant that won't be getting my business at all. If I could give negative stars as a review, I would!

A friend said she had a similar experience with being ignored and had to ask if they were going to be seated or seat themselves. She said that set the tone for both the food and service. Even with knowing this, I wanted to give it a try for myself, thinking it was just an off day, but was disappointed immediately after walking in the door. Finally made my first trip to Star Family Restaurant! I'm glad to see a new restaurant in town. The food was delicious. I got one of their broiled seafood platters, flounder, scallops, shrimp, and crab cake. And it was excellent for seafood in Pennsylvania, that is. Lol, mind you, I'm very used to eating fish and seafood caught on the same day.. Kids got chicken fingers and French fries, which came with ice cream. Another person with us got macaroni and cheese with pork barbecue on top, which was also very good, they said. The price was unbeatable, and I saw many things I wanted to return and try again...

Our waitress was great. She is perfect for the hospitality industry. Bathroom needs to be cleaned. It was pretty bad. Daily bathroom cleans are a must. I need to go back to gauge the food more. On this visit I tried All I the beef barley soup & I did not like it, but I'm not wasteful so I ate it. Baklava was extremly stale & hard to chew. (Yes I have teeth). I do not like to be negative at all, but improvements are encouraged. Like I said, I will have to go again & order something substantial to really gauge the food. Its nice to have a restaurant like this in the area, so I want to support them as...
