Fox’s Tavern — Restaurant in South Connellsville

I found this place online in searching for "OPEN" restaurants who do takeout. (Not many during this quarantine.) The establishment was very clean and didnt wreak like a typical "BAR"can. (Just FYI-at 7:30 PM & a dark/rainy eve.,your establishment looked very much closed from the outside. There were no parking lot/bldg. lights that I can recall seeing & the inside was very dark and gloomy. The only area lit up was when you initially walked in,and then obviously the kitchen but seen only after you walk in.) The shorter,petite blonde women who took my order,(she stated shes worked in OR's in her past,)I can honestly say I don't recall having that pleasant of a experience anywhere else. She immediately approached me while I asked for a menu. I wasn't sure of prices & what was included with menu options. She was of the utmost patient and kind young lady in helping me order aside my 'annoying indecisiveness'🤦🏼‍♀️. She was very conversing with me throughout as well. I appreciate that as I get very turned off by those who are ABOVE EVEN JUST A SIMPLE KIND ASSERVATION. I ordered stromboli's,h-made fries,chicken strips,salad & a burger. In my opinion,the chicken strips were probably the best I've ever had. It seemed the breading was in house made. The stromboli's were decently made & the fries were awesome, (not burnt like most I've had.) The burger though,it didnt have much of a flavor. It was well put together with all the fixin's. But I honestly couldn't taste a burger. But that's ONLY my opinion of course. The reason I rate 4⭐'s...I initially could not obtain contact with the only PHONE# available. It went to a long beeper like a fax machine which is why I couldn't order until I got there. After getting home with my order,I right away realized a order of fries were missing. I tried calling back right away,but again...no pick up. The prices,IMO,a bit high for what's included. Much of the items are alacarte. ie; Chix strips stand alone. The only good thing I can say about it is the food is pretty decent. When they don’t want to answer the phone, they have a call service that blocks calls from coming through and you have to call 6,7 even 8 times to get through then when you finally do get through it takes them quite a long time to finally answered the phone.. once you get there to pick your food up, you’ll wait at the register for a while, because the waitresses and the bartender pay no attention to you standing there and will walk past you four times before they ever ask what they can do for you. In fact, last time I picked up food, I stood at the register for 10 minutes, waiting for a waitress to ring up my order, while her and the bartender stood behind the bar and danced with each other, paying no attention to any of...

Honestly the wings weren't great for awhile, but they really turned it around. They got some important crew member assets from when it was Lynn's and the pizza is amazing. Best crust and sauce in town by far in pizza. The beer section could be improved, but they are new and expanding and improving things so let's see which direction they decide to go. Definitely give this place a shot. The food is great and the service is usually fairly good too. It's a pretty popular bar so it gets rowdy some nights but it is a bar....
