Ava Mae's Bistro and Pizzeria — Restaurant in South Fayette Township

Had the pleasure of dining at this new spot, and I’m already planning my next visit. From the moment we walked in, the calm, laid-back vibe made us feel instantly comfortable. The waitress we had was incredibly warm and friendly, the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular.

The food? Absolutely garden fresh and full of flavor. Every bite felt like a homemade meal, the kind you’d expect from a cherished family recipe. My son couldn’t get enough of the ravioli…. and honestly, I couldn’t blame him. Perfectly tender and clearly made with care.

The specials are truly something else…creative, thoughtful, and executed beautifully. I can’t wait for them to have their carbonara again! You can tell the kitchen takes pride in offering something different and top-notch.

If I had one wish, it’d be for a larger wine selection to pair with all this amazing food. Still, what they do offer is well curated and enjoyable.

All in all, this is the kind of place that makes you slow down, savor the moment, and leave happy....

Our first time at Ava Mae’s and certainly not the last! We got there at dinner time and they were very busy. There aren’t a ton of tables, but we were seated right away. We ordered a full tray of pizza - 1/2 cheese and 1/2 with sausage and weren’t sure what to expect but what we got was an incredible pie!

This pizza absolutely surprised me with how good it is! It’s super crispy on the bottom in the best way yet has a very soft chew. The sauce and cheese are on point, but the surprise bonus for me was the fresh basil in the sauce. Such a refreshing addition! When we got half with sausage I expected a few chunks of sausage but they really loaded it up. Worth the extra $3. I can’t say enough good about it. I also got a side salad which was good, but the ranch was excellent.

This place is a hidden gem! We went on the weekend, so it was very busy. The first impression was that the place was quite small, but the aromas coming from the kitchen were amazing. Our server, Shannon, took our orders quickly and refilled our drinks without us even having to ask! However, the main downside of eating here is the wait time. It took more than an hour to get the food, probably due to it being a smaller restaurant on the weekend having many customers. To contrast, the pizza was very tasty! All the ingredients were fresh, it was flavorful, and the crust was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pasta was perfectly cooked to al dente, and the sauce was very nice.
