UPDATE AT THE END: We waited close to an hour for 3 regular burgers and chicken tenders. The girl at the window had a horrible attitude at some point she slammed the window in my face. When we finally got our burger it was cold and patty was very dry. I had to ask for the tenders because they did not put them in the bag. Avoid this burger spot! UPDATE: Since the owner wants to lie and never take accountability about their horrible customer service. I was never ugly with the girl at the window. She was took my order and we sat and waited for over 30 minutes while others got their orders. She then opened the window and asked what we were waiting for. She went and checked on our order and said they were waiting on our fries. Again another two orders came out with fries and yet we’re still waiting, even though we had ordered before those that received their order before us. Now I stood at the window and asked her how much longer since we had waiting another 15 minutes. I also asked her about the milkshake refill the cook offered my sister since she had finished it before we even received our food, she said they don’t do refills on milkshake and that she had told him and all I said was well I wish someone would have told us instead of having us keep waiting. And that’s when she slammed the window in my face, without realizing they haven’t given me my tenders. Now I’m back at the window asking her for the tenders and when I grabbed them and walked away, she yelled out “you’re welcome” and an attitude. So yes by the time I ate my burger it WAS cold because they had them sitting in the bag for over 10 minutes waiting for my fries. Then still had to go back and wait a few more minutes for the tenders. Making this stop a 50 minute stop for 3 burgers! Please check out the other reviews where the owners responded to reviews without taking accountability or showing any empathy for their ugly behavior. This is not the first time you’ll read the girl shuts the window in someone’s face, or that she had a horrible attitude. This is trend going with this shop. Save yourself the trouble and go across 160 to Los...

This was a motorcycle trip from route 550 to Pueblo, CO.

Location: 4/5: Not to busy of an area, just off route 160. Easy off, easy on. All gravel parking, not conducive to motorcycle parking.

Ambiance: 1/5: Not much of an atmosphere, as all eating is outside under a medium size carport, sitting on old and wobbly picnic tables. No bathroom. Limited seating.

Value for $$: 1/5: For the quality of food, $14 for a cheeseburger was disgraceful, and $12 for tacos was painful.

Service: 5/5: We had an young lady on her first day on the job trying very hard to get our order right. She was kind, sweet, and apologetic for her slow speed and mistakes. Unfortunately, our order still came out wrong, which was fixed with no argument or additional charge.

Cuisine: 0/5: Burgers were well, well done, and cold. After my son's first bite, I piled on the condiments to compensate for deficits. Honestly, the worst hamburger I have ever had. While my daughter was not excited about the tacos, she also was not put-off by them either. The fries and onion rings were cold!, tasteless!, and a poor excuse for onion rings and fries. Nothing about our meal warranted a second try. *We did not try the ice cream. Other customers that we talk with said to try the ice cream. Maybe this place is a malt shoppe and not a hamburger or taco shop for a reason.

Recommend: 0/5: We cannot recommended the South Fork...

The older lady on the grill, I’m guessing the GM or owner, was highly inappropriate in the way she treated her staff. She was verbally ripping into one of the poor girls for what was a minor, easily coachable mistake. It should have been done out of earshot. Instead, she was doing it right there at the counter for everyone to see and showed poor judgment and management skills. I have no idea why anyone would want to work there. I went to say something in defense of the poor girl and the manager started shouting at me too. I’m not losing sleep over that part, but it shows more poor judgment and irrational behavior.

I know that losing just a couple of customers won’t do much to the bottom line, but my wife and I aren’t supporting any establishment that treats their staff that way. I’ve GM’d hotels for almost 10 years now and I would never dream of treating an employee like that.

Oh, and then the blonde older lady who had been so rude also forgot to pack part of our order. I came back to the counter and she started literally shouting at me in front of everyone again, saying I was trying to scam them because I was upset over the earlier incident. She finally made it after we went back and forth for a while. I guess it’s good to know that she treats her customers like trash as well, not just her employees (that...

We are two non-beef eaters who were in a small town and needed something to eat. Not many places were open in South Fork on a Monday afternoon at 3pm except for pizza and we both like chocolate malts so we tried the South Fork Malt Shoppe. We were thrilled to see that they had green chili and mushroom burgers so we ordered grilled cheese sandwiches and had them add green chilies and mushroom, which they didn't skimp on. Our grilled cheese was perfectly cooked and had plenty of delicious, well-distributed toppings. It's making my mouth water thinking about it as I'm writing this review! The chocolate malt was a perfect consistency and they gave us a large, sturdier straw for good sucking. The french fries were perfect and we both enjoyed our meal. They had a diverse menu including cod fish and chips, fish tacos, and Chicken baskets. This would be a great place for meat eaters because they had a good burger selection, and I would definitely bring my kids here. They even had real ice cream tubs that you could get scooped out for cones or sundaes. The place was clean, bathroom was clean, and there were lots of tables inside and also seating outside either open air or under a shade cloth. Staff was veryfriendly. We will definitely stop in again.

When we drive Cortez to Denver or Denver to Cortez we stop for delicious burgers here. We've never been disappointed in their burgers or fries. Being dairy allergic we've never tried their shakes or malts. We always get our food and go but they do have some picnic tables outside to enjoy your food at. Our favorite is the bacon burger. It is huge, filling, and yummy. Much better than any fast food and supports local.
