We tried their Sunday Brunch last weekend. The Eggs Benedict was adequate but nothing special. My companion ordered Hot to Tots, which was described as tater tots, pork belly, cotija cheese, a poached egg, píco de gallo, salsa verde, avo creme craiche, and chipotle aioli. They were out of the salsa verde and avo creme craiche and offered no substitutes. When the meal came my companion tried a forkful and it appeared that the pork belly was omitted. What my companion found were crumbled bacon bits on the bottom of the bowl. My companion asked if he could get a breakfast sandwich instead which was the same price, since the Hot to Tots was not as he expected. The person behind the counter brought it back to the kitchen and they prepared the sandwich and delivered it to the table. About 3 minutes after it was delivered, and before my companion had touched it, the manager came over and said she was going to charge us for the sandwich because there was nothing wrong with the original meal. My companion said he wasn’t going to pay for it and to please take it back. The manager said this put her in an “awkward situation” She said if he hadn’t touched the original meal, she could have served it as an employee meal! Would anyone want a meal that had already been served to a patron, touched or not? The original meal was already discarded so my companion paid $12 for a meal and got nothing to eat. This was the worse customer service I’ve ever encountered. We won’t be back and I certainly won’t be recommending them...
Read moreTucked away in the idyllic Lake Champlain Islands, Two Heroes Brewing & Public House is located at 252 US Route 2, in South Hero. Opened in 2022 after evolving from a pilot setup in a former bagel shop, this spot—run by partners Matt Bartle, Daren Orr, and Danielle Orr—focuses on small-batch brews using local ingredients like grain from Quintin Farm in nearby North Hero. Housed in a striking red modern monitor barn, it doubles as a brewpub with a large porch perfect for sunset views, making it an ideal stop while escaping Burlington's bustle (just 25 minutes away). The food is average for a brewery and they have food trucks on occasion. The beer selection is broad and is published online. It’s a dog friendly environment. There is plenty of parking although half of it is on dirt well beyond...
Read moreAfter the long arduous ferry ride across the 13th largest lake in the United States my family and I were tired and thirsty. Landing in this new state of Green Mountains we had no idea where to procure a frosty alcoholic beverage of the finest quality. We had heard musings of superb libations coming out of the 6th smallest state and 2nd least populated but had no idea where to go. Then as we came to the end of the ferry road we spotted TWO HEROES BREWERY. We ended up trying every beer they had available and ALL of them were fantastic. Excellent outdoor seating, awesome food trucks, and a great and knowledgeable staff. From now on every time we visit the Burlington or Northern NY/VT area we will be stopping in for a beer and to take...
