The 1945 — Restaurant in South Pittsburg

This place is situated with a gorgeous view. The inside is fairly nice and has a section outside for seating. The waitress was very sweet and really tried her best. It seems the problem is with the cook. I ordered their BLT special, which comes with pimento cheese and a fried green tomato instead of a regular sliced tomato. When my sandwich arrived, it had zero tomato. My BLT had no tomato. I asked the waitress and she said they are out of green tomatoes so the cook just left the tomato off. She brought me a tomato slice, which I had to cut myself. My side, fried okra, was cold. My husband’s club sandwich had no mayo, which he specifically asked for when ordering. His fries were very good and I suspect the hot fries were the reason my okra was cold. We were pretty perturbed by this point. The waitress took 10% off our bill. We chose this restaurant based on reviews, so wanted to offer an updated review. None of the items pictured on the reviews here are still currently available at this location. We were given menus and when we made our selections, none of the things were available. They're not going to be available again. The staff said the owner was changing up what was going to be offered on the menu and we literally had to be relegated to sandwiches/burgers, which was a huge disappointment and could have gotten many other places. It is a beautiful location, as far as the view goes but we wil not be back there. If you're looking for a subpar sandwich with fries, onion rings or tater tots with maybe some queso as an appetizer, this is the place for you. I can’t speak for the food, but it was very disappointing to drive up on Sunday, April 27, 2025 to find the restaurant closed. The hours online were listed as open from 12-5pm, as well as the sign on the door that was flipped to closed. We are traveling for a wedding and the bride and groom were going to treat us to lunch. If you’re going to close, at least update your brick and mortar so people will know. Everything we’ve looked at lists this business as open during these hours. Thank you!
