Rodick's Takeout in Southwest Harbor, Maine was absolutely delicious. It was raining, so we had to eat in the car. I had a buttered lobster roll, but my partner went for a whole lobster. They were nice enough to cut it up for him since we didn't have claw crackers. Don't miss out on the blueberry lemonade, it was so good. #rodickstakeout #thingstodoinmaine #mainerestaurants

We visited on a Sunday after in mid-June 2025 for lunch after finishing the Beech Cliff Trail and before heading to the Flying Mountain Trail. There was plenty of parking in the aggregate rock parking lot. There was no shade for the cars but there were picnic tables with umbrellas thankfully. The restaurant was decorated uniquely with buoys. It was a grate photo opportunity. There were a group there when we arrived and at least 3 others as we were ordering and eating and before we left. We were very hungry and ended up ordering quite a bit but we ate it all. We ordered: - Plain Jane Burger (for our pickiest eater and he loved it) - Classic Maine Lobster roll (delicious large pieces of lobster meat and mid-price of what we had seen on our trip) - Fried Clam Roll (superior to the lobster roll in my opinion and slightly cheaper too) - Haddock Sandwich (delicious and the price was right) - Crab Melt (got for my oldest as it was his birthday, it was really food but not sure it was worth more than the lobster roll) - Chicken salad sandwich (my wife was getting sick of fried food on our road trip and she said this hit the spot) - Doughboy (we got one for everyone to share and it was worth it to try. Not sure I'd get it again... maybe if it had some ice cream.) Overall the food was fantastic but the price was also very high. I think you do get the quality for what you're paying for. We did have pretty good service as the staff who took our order was nice and helpful with answering our questions however we did have some missing chips from one of our orders that we had to go back and ask for. Also one of my cousins had ordered a side of fries that they also forgot. There also aren't many food options in this area of Acadia National Park or that are open on Sundays. I would come back again and highly recommend this place to others.

My boyfriend and I found this gem while riding around. He noticed the $14.95 lobster dinner sign, and turned us right around. We went at the end of the day, and the staff got us taken care of. Everyone was super nice, and the food was amazing!! We went at the end of the day, and got to meet the owners when they were cleaning and packing things up for the night. She runs the business, her husband is the fisherman, the corn is bought from her sisters farm, and she makes the coleslaw. I read some other reviews and had seen a comment about pricing, but remember- employees need to get paid out as well as folks doing food preparation. Shoot we were more than impressed with a $15 lobster dinner in a tourist area!!! Especially since we paid $81 for a lobster dinner and fountain drinks elsewhere earlier 😒. We even came back the following day and added in a lobster corn chowder! This place is definitely awesome, and a great stop outside of Acadia! I would recommend this place to anyone!!

We had a very good fried haddock sandwich there a couple days ago, it was a great day to bring our little dog there was a stiff wind and the temp was 72. Just perfectly cool inside our truck. So we decided to eat out doors in the sun to warm up. After our lunch I was approached by a very upset female worker who was hollering at me actually calling me an animal abuser for letting my pup stay inside what she thought was a very hot truck. I tried to reason with her, but she was on a very disrespectful tyraid. I can appreciate her passion, for I too am an animal lover my k9 kids mean the world to me. I’ve had a wonderful lifetime of working with and training dogs and horses. However, one should carry on a conversation of knowledge and caring for all involved…humans included. For some people are ignorant of car temps and animals, and also there are people who do know about car temps and will only leave their k9 kids when it is cool enough inside a truck with the windows far enough down as not to chill them. May be one day we all can hear each others view and not be so very hostile and tune...
