This place was a nice little find. Next to the Loves and a towing business. They were out of brisket when we arrived at a little before 715pm. I chose the chicken and sausage with potato salad and Mac and cheese. Wife had the pulled pork sandwich with pickles. Added a couple of beers all for about $28. The chicken was juicy, and the sausage was spot on. Mac and Cheese was ok..but could use something for more flavor I think. The potato salad was definitely different than I expected, it was supposedly bacon bits and sour cream based I could definitely taste the sour cream but not the bacon so much..id probably have to try it again to really know if I'd like it better. All an all, it's not a bad little joint, decent food instead of fast food with knock knacks for sale, flags, pickles, and whatnots and plenty of parking for big rigs ACROSS the street in their lot. Don't park in the tow business beside the BBQ place or you will get towed. The lady I talked to was very nice and said she checks the lot beside them and if you're in there, she will have you towed. They need to keep that area free for the wreckers to come in at all hours of the night. If you park in the lot across the street, please pick up after yourself and don't trash the lot or leave your waste...it's hard finding free, decent parking these days, show a little courtesy and professionalism.

Worst BBQ ever!! Pretty sure the beef brisket and pulled pork never touched a BBQ!! I totally agree with Chris Z who posted 2 days ago exactly what I was going to say! I'm a Carnivore and a BBQ addict! I only eat meat! I don't fool around with bread or sides! This meat was horrible! It had zero taste and NO smoke! It felt like it had been pressure cooked! Just flavorless, soggy, mush!! There is liquid in the to go box which I tasted and it tasted like water. Not even close to BBQ! Way too pricey! I've had BBQ at Kroger that was way better and way cheaper!! I tried a dab of the mystery sauces on the table and didn't like any of them! I only use a yellow mustard sauce with less sugar and they didn't offer that so I couldn't even choke down my $9 worth of meat! We were there at lunchtime and there was NO smoke or smell of smoke anywhere! No bathroom either! Had to go to the truck stop bathroom next door. Grabbed a couple hot dogs to fill my belly there too!!

My 3rd visit here I splurged and got 6 ribs; sides are extra. It wasn't until later that I saw they have a special for 4 ribs + 2 sides for a much cheaper price. The ribs were huge and fall-off-the-bone tender, so much so that I ate them with a fork. They had a rub on them that made the outsides nice and crispy but kept the inside tender. I just wish the rub had more seasoning or something to give it a little more flavor. Their BBQ sauces, however, are really good, very tangy, almost Western style. The potato salad was good but different from the last time I was here: It had a more traditional mustard base this time. I liked the previous version, though, which was more mayo based, but it was sort of smokey and had little bits of BBQ mixed in.... Service was good, and fast considering they were rather busy. I think next time I'll go back to the pulled chicken or pork, both of which are very good.

I want to start by saying based my experience the people claiming that the meat was not prepared on a smoker really must have limited experience when it comes to tasting bbq from a smoker. Not saying they haven't eaten a lot of smoked meat but I am guessing they maybe haven't had it in different varieties based on wood choices, region style of cooking, temps, etc etc etc etc. Even if the smoker wasn't right before my eyes as I approached from beside the building I still would know 🤷🏿‍♂️. Ok I'm about to give a 1-10 star rating (1 being the worse and 10 being the best) along with explanation of each item ordered.

RIBS- 7.5 star The ribs were tender, meaty and juicy. They were seasoned also. Believe it or not some places skip the seasoning and lean on the sauce. The flavor of the ribs before dipping in the sauce is pretty decent but the flavor seemed to be only surface level and the fat was a lil excessive here and there. I would get again.

Sauce- 8.0 star. I'm not sure if their sauce is made from scratch. Didn't taste familiar but it was pretty solid in flavor. I opted for the spicy and it had a slight kick and bold flavor that hit well with the meat and wasn't overwhelming in the slight. Would get again.

Mac and Cheese - 5.0 star The Mac and cheese wasn't anything to write home about but I've definitely had some that deserved a far lower rating. Wasn't too much flavor and left a watery puddle behind. Would not get again.

Collard Greens-6.5 star. The greens were better than the Mac and cheese no doubt but it wasn't a highlight and I'd probably end up choosing something different next time to see what's what.

Jalapeños Cornbread-8.5 star The cornbread was solid in flavor, moist and a slight kick. It was almost too moist but it didn't quite fall to that point. I definitely like it and would order again.

Service- 7.5 star Now for this rating I was kinda torn on what to put and here's why....... The lady that took the order mannerisms were kinda given off hurry up and vibes plus when she printed the receipt she placed it down as I was reaching to grab it from her hands. Maybe she meant nothing by it and it was just habit but being a former cashier I use to hate with someone did that if my hand is out or reaching prior to. On the bright side the food came out fairly quickly and the lady that came from the back to hand it to me had a good vibe to herself.

I'm conclusions........ I'd visit again especially since it's located next to a truck stop I stop at from time to time. It's a small establishment but seemed clean. The atmosphere is 50/50 bbq and political. If you dislike trump to the point that it will determine whether you will buy then keep driving because the trump paraphernalia is on extreme overload. Doesn't bother me any because I came for the food and nothing negative was aimed towards me that I noticed anyway. Hope this help

I'm torn. It wasn't bad, and I will try again. So, after being turkeyed out for the past week , I was looking forward to something like this. I showed up at 4:55 on a Thursday. I ordered half a rack, half pound each pulled pork and brisket, a hot link, cornbread, and mac 'n cheese (to go). The dessert case looked too good, so a piece of chocolate cake ended up going with too. Total with tip was a shade over 50 bucks. To me, would have been a bargain, had it been better. I've been bbqing for over 20 years, so I kind of have a clue. They have the right equipment (looks to be a pellet smoker out back), the meat was of good quality. Cooking was done with proper time and temp, so all was tender and juicy, and there was a good amount of fat left on the meat. What was missing was FLAVOR!!!!! The ribs had bark, the brisket had bark and a smoke ring, pulled pork had bits of bark in it, link looked smoked, but nothing actually tasted smoky or even sufficiently salted or seasoned. Usually I'm wary of oversmoking, leaving that creosote flavor, but this wasn't even close to a smoky flavor. I didn't yet try the sauce, as great bbq should stand on its own. Cornbread was a little dry, but of GREAT flavor. Mac n cheese was basic, but the way I've always liked it, buttery and creamy. Chocolate cake was fantastic!!! Portions were generous (I'll be eating this for several meals after feeding two). The two ladies working the counter were nice, and there's beer for consumption on site, but no restroom (boo!!!) Overall, I hate not rating this place higher, because with a few tweaks it could be a gold mine!!! Start by adding smoke. Lastly, it appeared I got the last half-rack available for the day, and it was only 5pm. If you make xtra, and pack what doesn't sell that nite in plastic go-boxes to sell COLD, they'll sell to truckers like me, guaranteed. Good luck,...

I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. It's definitely not Texas BBQ, but when your stuck at a truck stop with the same old tired choices, this is a nice change. I didn't feel like cooking, so I went and checked it out.

When you walk in the door, you're walking into a practical shrine for #45. It's amusing and offensive all at the same time. That doesn't affect my overall review stars. It's just a side note. I hadn't even considered dining in anyway so no need to consider ambience as part of the review for me. On to the food...

I ordered pulled chicken (not the sandwich, just the meat) and collard greens. I wanted the baked apples mentioned in the menu here in Google, but I was disappointingly told they weren't doing those. The lady was friendly and courteous. She made sure to tell me how the Cole slaw is dressed when I asked for it. Thank goodness she did or this review may have ended up a 1 star if I found out after I had already paid for it. She also asked if I needed anything to drink and about the heat level for the sauce. I got the mild. It was decent. I typically don't use BBQ sauce because meat seasoned and cooked well doesn't usually need it. I tried it and it was good, despite the small kick I wasn't expecting from ordering mild. The meat was cooked well and it wasn't dry. The collards were my favorite part of the meal. I just wished I had realized how flipping small the container was before I got back to my truck. I would have ordered a second since they were actually the reason I even walked over.

Anyway, not overly awesome and not horrible. A lot of work goes into true BBQ and it was...
