American Deli — Restaurant in Spartanburg

Bad bad bad. I went to American deli today and got a chicken salad and this is what I received, to get halfway down the road to my location and open my box I was so upset. It was so hard like I wouldn’t even feed it to a dog and I love animals. Don’t take that the wrong way however, I should’ve knew it was a red flag when I walked in and all of the workers was laying out lounging eating all doing all types of stuff that didn’t look professional But I was hungry and ready to get something to eat before work so I took the plate back she asked me what did I want to do? I said I would like more food. She asked me what food I would like. I said let me try something else being that that didn’t work then she began to price range the difference of what I want next red flag that should have not been the first answer after that after she seen that chicken after she see I was professional( myself )she begin to say that it was cool what I would I like so she put me another order in while I awaited. I asked for a drink maybe like 10 minutes after waiting, she tried to charge me. I stated that I was not going to pay. For a drink after being disappointed the way I was I work in customer service as well, so I did not take the drink because I didn’t want to pay for it. Why should I after receiving this hard crunchy rocks of chicken why would this be served out the kitchen who feel comfortable enough to serve this anyway??when I asked to speak to a manager she told me no one was there… She began to say things in their gender, and I felt offended because she was talking normal. Came here today for the 1st and last time wanted to try it because we never heard of them or of it being a “wing” place now I know why. First customer service absolutely horrible. Young AA girl working the front counter didn’t say a single word to us not when we walked in not after being rung up or when she handed us our food. She also rung us both up for a combo with fries and drinks for $31 when we BOTH only asked for wings my husband hate fries. Then she was on a person call while we were sitting inside. Whole vibe was weird we barely touched our food and got up and left. Lastly the wings, it’s sad because the chicken itself is really good quality chicken and crispy but the sauces are not it. Me and my husband both got different flavors and agreed we couldn’t finish the chicken because the sauces were weird and nasty and taste like a bunch of weird sauces a little kid batched together at home. Very stuffy, rude atmosphere. Expensive for how low quality and tasteless the food is. Got a gyro and the lamb looked horrendous and didn't taste like anything. Signs allllll over the inside nickle and diming you for anything and everything and to top it all off good luck if you need to use the restroom because that ain't happening here.

Edit 11/7/2024: Direct your eyes below to the owners one syllable response. Obviously unperturbed and disinterested in even putting forth the bare minimum of an apology.
