I have eaten here once when it was at a different location and the food was amazing then. A young lady took my order. I got the 3 ribs and asked her if I they have any big fatty ones like in their menu pictures/online reviews because that's what I'm after. She said yes so I got excited. She recommended the mac and cheese so I ordered that as well. I told her I wanted to try their smoked peach cobbler with ice cream at the end of my meal and asked if it was heated to which she said yes and that she would put it in after I was almost done eating.
The food came out super fast, about 3 minutes. She sat it down and quickly left. I stared at it then looked at the menu again because the 3 ribs on my plate were the smallest ribs I have ever been served with each rib being about 3 inches long; It looked very much like a child's plate but I didn't order from the kid's menu.
Since she left so fast and didn't look like she was coming back out any time soon, I went up and asked if all of their ribs are that tiny. The older woman (the owner maybe?) came out and told me the rack sizes vary so much that when they serve small ones like that, they will usually give more than 3. To make it right she will bring more out. I appreciated that gesture. She brought 3 normal sized ribs out and let me keep the little ones.
I had hoped I wasn't inconveniencing them too much more but I asked for pickles and onions and later a refill of my tea. I never saw the younger girl at my table again until she dropped my ticket off and she left quickly again. She didn't ask if I was ready for the cobbler I told her I wanted and the ticket felt final, so I grabbed a small to-go box, stacked my plates and clutter and went up to pay.
The young girl was up there and I mentioned the peach cobbler but I said I didn't need it. I think she misunderstood me and asked if I still wanted ice cream. I tried to tell her no I don't want it any more; I'm already finished and ready to go. The exchange of words here made me feel like I frustrated her for even mentioning the cobbler because she tried to ring me up for it several times. The older woman told me they had plenty they could send me with but I was heading to an event and couldn't take it.
All this to say I appreciate them trying to make up for the small ribs. They weren't bad. If you told me they were baked, I'd believe you. I haven't been to a southern BBQ place that didn't serve or offer pickles and onions but thank you for obliging, even if they were sweet. Thank you for the 1 refill upon request. I was a server for 7 years, it goes a long way asking if there is anything else you need before you drop their ticket off, goes even further if you suggest dessert, let alone get them the dessert they already ordered. Mac and...
Read moreI’ve had HeavenLee a couple of times, but always forget to review. Today, I placed an order online and went and picked it up. When I arrived, the young man came out to take my order. I told him I had an online order and he went back to get it then brought them out and was polite and did well.
Normally, I would have taken it back to the office or home to eat, but I was slow getting there and my order was done well before o got there. Since I wanted it fresh, I ate in my car in the parking lot.
My order was a rib/brisket combo with smoked potato salad and baked beans. It was all excellent. The ribs were flavorful and tender with a lot of meat. The brisket was also flavorful and tender. The smoked potato salad was a little different, but excellent. It was my first time to try it. It had chunks of smoked potato mixed with the stuff that makes it potato salad. And the beans were the best. It had Texas toast as a side that would’ve been good if I’d been there sooner. It was a little soggy today, but it was my fault. And don’t be afraid of the spicy sauce. It’s one of the 2 best Oklahoma sauces I’ve ever had. Not too spicy.
BBQ is my favorite food and I’m a little choosy. HeavenLee will continue to get my business. They were exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Heaven Lee BBQ when you’re hungry for excellent smoked meat,...
Read moreFood is out of this world! All of it. Literally everything we've eaten here has been unlike anything else. Really a particularly huge fan of the toast (I know it sounds basic but seriously) and the Mac & Cheese. And if you haven't had the smoked meatloaf you are missing out. I don't even LIKE meatloaf and will tell you theirs is incredible. Whatever your position on meatloaf is normally--you have to try this one!!!
Excellent, friendly service. Like they really make you feel welcome and at home! I genuinely don't know how to describe it better than this, I know it sounds generic. It's not. They really go out of their way to be wonderful.
I love the atmosphere too. It's very casual and cozy. I also like that it's just a little bit dim. They have those fluorescent overhead lights but don't overwhelm you with them. It's brighter than a fine dining restaurant without giving my light-sensitive-self a migraine. Very very comfortable.
Not a single negative thing to say about this place. It's...
