Route 33 Steakhouse — Restaurant in Spencer

3’s across the board, just like the name. Visited Black Friday, 2024 around 4pm.

Fried pickle appetizer was resting in a pool of grease. Wife’s filet was over seared and burnt. Ribeye was very low quality, overly fatty, and under seasoned. Salad was massive chunks of hard lettuce. But will give credit to the wife’s sweet potato and asparagus, even though it was a bit on the limp side.

We both ordered a drink from the bar and received the wrong drink.

Manager took our order and then left to “check on the other restaurant” as they also own the local Mexican place (La Finca).

Overall, our bill was 70$ pre-tip for 2 entrees, an appetizer, and 2 bar drinks. Very premium price in Spencer, for a not premium meal. That’s a Texas Roadhouse bill in Charleston with far better quality outcome.

Went on a Friday, place was almost dead inside (not a good sign). Extremely mediocre. Waiter didn't even speak English so almost everyones order on an 8 top was wrong in one way or another. Steaks ordered medium-rare came out shoe leather well-done. Steak ordered medium came out blue-rare. Half the appetizers were missing. First time here at the Route 33 Steakhouse. We were passing through Spencer WV and this place came up as a great place to eat. We both ordered a supper meal. My wife had the chicken tenders meal. You could tell they were hand cut and breaded. A unique taste. I had the 12 oz Ribeye. It was grilled to my liking and the flavor was amazing. Both meals were served with two sides.
