The food was good. I get the sense that they’re not trying to innovate as much as they’re leaning on what works well elsewhere. It was slightly pricey for a family restaurant but I felt like the portions were fair. I would have expected more vegan options and much more local options including a catch of the day. It seems like the area would warrant a good partnership with local providers. I got the Red Snapper Sandwich, which was not a headliner, but it was still good. If it were a fish pulled out of the Lake caught the day before, I think it would’ve added to the experience at least. The appetizers were a bit better than the entrees with a fun option on a frisbee. We got the Fried Cheddar Bites and the Portobello Fries which were both great. The Ranch was a bit of a misstep, it was very runny, but Aliya recommended the Tomato Bisque and talked up the Honey Mustard which was amazing. The service here was top notch. Aliya checked back at our table several times and was extremely accommodating for some of the picky eaters we had with us. She adjusted her tone and verbiage very pragmatically when she was discussing menu options with the children at our table and made sure to let us know about all the fun activities so rounding the dining area. The environment was great. Outdoor seating, a canoe, mini golf, corn hole, ping pong and some nice seating to just lounge and enjoy a drink. The kids had too much to do and they wanted to try it all. That would make this place excellent for a family experience, but the pricing and bar setup leave me thinking it wants the best of both worlds. It was still serene and enjoyable. My one concern was that, although the facility seems to be at grade and low barrier for accessibility, there’s no buttons on the restroom doors or handicap accessible seating. There was also some washout making access around the channel a bit challenging if you were in a wheelchair. Really what shined here was the waitstaff which I hope is well compensated because they work hard! Without the overly positive experiences they helped to provide, I would have probably rated this establishment a three or four. Our server was amazing, the people behind the bar were great, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The menu, in my humble opinion, needs some work. For those prices I would expect innovation and ingredients that were local...
Read moreI normally don’t leave reviews but this place stuck out like a sore thumb to me. We called ahead of time since we had a group of 15 coming to celebrate my soon-to-be wife and I. We were told there was no record of our name and that we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Waiter only came to see us for an order of drinks and food with no check-ins. A nearby garbage bin had a nasty smell so we asked politely to move. They said sure whatever while turning and walking away. Some food came out cold/undercooked, no seasoning, and one order didn’t come out until 2 hours later. My group and I voiced our frustrations with not having any communication from the waiter. The waiter was defensive and very unapologetic. My soon-to-be wife started feeling ill, along with 2 more of my guests. They all had either seafood or chicken. I was worried they had food poisoning since they all vomited and/or felt sick the day after. Because my fiancé, friends, and family were all disappointed in this outing, it made me upset I couldn’t have given them a better experience elsewhere. The only positive was the view and atmosphere...
Read moreIf I could give it a negative number I would. The table was dirty, asked for it to be cleaned, that took 30 minutes. We should have left then! Ordered drinks, that took another 20 minutes. Ordered dinner, waited, and waited, and waited. The waitress didn’t return. Went to the bar and inquired about our food. The waitress came back and said they were “slammed” and there was a mix up. Food would be right out. Another 10 minutes, no food, no waitress, went to the restroom, soap dispenser fell off the wall, paper towel dispenser empty and a roll sitting on to counter. Went back to the table, still no food or waitress. Went to the bar and informed them that we were leaving. Waitress was at the entrance and asked, are you leaving, and I replied, YOU THINK? I will never return to this restaurant. I can’t say the food was bad, I never got to try it. The drinks were ok, not bad, not great. The service sucked. They were not overly busy, the bar tender was cleaning and inspecting each glass she was putting away. There were other people still sitting and waiting for there food, I...
