Casa De Martha — Restaurant in Splendora

We wanted to check this place out based on reviews, and I'm baffled as to how they can be rated over 4 stars, and the food is way overpriced. First, we sat ourselves (after being told to) and waited a while before someone brought us menus. I ordered the Paulita and 1 plate came out at least 10 minutes before anyone else's did. When she brought the plate, she said it was a cold plate, which it was, but it had a hot taco and tostada on it, which is weird because now my "hot" food, was sitting on a cold plate. I wasn't going to eat because my granddaughter and husband were still waiting on their food. By the time their plates came out, my taco and tostada were mushy. That's how long it took for them to get their meals. The food was not great at all! We sat by a window, and you could tell the window sill has obvioulsy never been wiped down. As a firm believer in supporting local businesses, I was eager to visit Casa De Martha on their opening day. I appreciate the effort that went into launching the restaurant, but there are several areas that could benefit from improvement. The atmosphere was notably quiet, and incorporating background music would help create a more inviting dining experience.

While the restaurant specializes in Tex-Mex cuisine, the flavors were unfortunately underwhelming, lacking the depth and seasoning expected from this style of food. Additionally, service was slower than anticipated. While some delays are understandable on opening day, improving efficiency would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

I went today for lunch and it was a really terrible experience. We walked in and the waiter just stood there cleaning the floors and wiping down tables while we stood there waiting to be seated at an empty restaurant. The waiter, Tony?, was a nice kid but bad server. He didn’t bring us menus, didn’t tell us about a lunch menu, brought my mom the wrong drink, brought me a flat drink.
