Today, we made our initial visit to try their breakfast offerings. Upon entering the establishment, we observed a cozy countertop bar and a few tables. However, it was not until I proceeded to locate the restroom that I discovered two additional rooms equipped with tables. We opted to sit in the front area, where it was evident that the sole waitress and her assistant were managing the entire space by themselves. Despite being understandably busy, our waitress ensured that my food arrived hot. The scrapple was particularly impressive. Loved the Atmosphere. We are already anticipating our next visit when we return next month.

Helpful waitstaff, friendly service, and tasty comfort food. The Reuben sandwich, French dip sandwich, coffee, and french fries were very good. Stick with the classics or ask your waitress for suggestions and you should do ok.

1st ever in 16yrs we ordered from the Barrel ... it was a takeout and was pleased our order was exactly like we asked for. The homefries where cooked perfectly little crispy outside just perfect .. we also had scraple also cooked perfectly .. we ordered 2 steak egg and cheese on hard rolls and the lady who took our order explained that the steak that normally comes with steak and egg platter wouldn't be as good on our breakfast sandwiches so she said she could make the sandwiches with steak they use like for cheesesteaks very very good and I was very happy and impressed she told me about the difference .. will definitely order again being it's so close Yesterday we saw a sign hanging about Lenten Specials so we will be looking into that for tomorrow being we haven't found a big fish fry that the firehouses or churches put on in the area ... my husband loves fried fish not me but we will give it a try .. just wondering about their Prime Rib they have now .. im a retired chef and any where I worked when we had Prime Rib night we made beautiful fresh Prime Rib and once it ran out for that evening it was done .. I've been to places that order it pre-made where they just sliced the size you like throw it on the grill or put in the Salamander aka broiler..places do this because Prime rib is pricey and if they don't sell alot it's a cheaper option.. I just can't see them selling Fresh Homemade Prime rib daily and selling out .. we go by there all the time and there are very few cars there .. Anyway I wish them the best and hope they will train there cooks staff to listen to owners and stay...

So haven't been there since the new owner Dana took it over. I don't understand the great reviews. We stopped today 10/22/25 for breakfast. I am not a picky person but I detest warmed up bread that is supposed to pass for toast no matter where I go to eat. I asked the waitress for slightly dark toast and explained about warmed up bread. I overheard them talking about the request and a snarky remark of "yeah right?". No problem there but when she brought my order there it was: warmed up bread. I asked her "does that look dark to you" and she said "oh the kitchen was confused". Like that was an excuse. If I were the waitress and knew my client wanted darker toast I would not have brought out the order until the staff fixed it. But she brought it out anyway knowing full well that wasn't what I wanted. "oh do you want me to take it back? I told her no the he ll with it because I was angry. The rest of the food was good except for the bitter bottom of the pot coffee. We will not be returning because clearly they don't care about their patrons. Plus we ordered five texas weiners to go and there was hardly any sauce on them at all. There was a sign on the wall that said: If we did not meet your expectations then lower yours. Callous to say the least. Well I don't need to lower my expectations because we will be going elsewhere in the future. And at the check out we were told I should have asked for dark because there were only two settings on their toaster. Really? Like it was my fault....

I keep striking out with this place with fish options. My tuna melt was really runny, and sadly did not come with a pickle spear. On another occasion, they didn't have the smoked salmon on the menu so I ordered it grilled. (The third thing in as many visits that was not available - the other two times being the tuna melt and a dessert). It came out tasting steamed and lacking any seasoning - not even salt and pepper. And the soggy rippled potato chip cleverly disguised as shaved parmesan in my salad was unfortunately, discovered by my mouth. HOWEVER, my boyfriend has loved every meal he got here, especially the crab cakes. He said they were made with real crab, not krab. Also, he loves the pistachio cake. Portions are large and the prices are good. Service was slow on one occasion, and OK...
