I have been hunting and visiting this area and the surrounding 100 miles in all directions since early 90s. I love this place enough that I ended buying a property and moved away from the West (left) side the state. One issue I always had here, after a full day hunting, was to find a good joint that serves good food in a large amount to feed a big guy like me. There are a lot of places that are either out of the way or just don't give you your money's worth when it comes to food. Either the portions are too small or the food ain't worth a lick, or the service is too slow and bland, or it is closed when you are starving the most. Then I found this place! First thing I noticed was the food. Really good and plenty. Then there was the service. They are so kind. The closest place to here, only 6 miles away from 395, is Loon Lake. A place for fishing, lake fun, hunting, camping and other activities and couple of restaurants that serve a little for a lot. Trust me I know! The last time I ate by the Lake, me and only 4 other people at the restaurant, it took them 50 minutes to serve me my food. That does not include the 20 min I spent waiting to be noticed, my table being by the check-out register.
Then when my food finally got there, I got a 3" diameter burger with about 12 to 15 fries. I was sure I am going to get a toy with that kid's meal, but I did not. So, here it is: if you are willing to drive 5 more minutes west of Loon Lake to the T-off in Springdale, you will get more for the same or less. I personally like to get my money's worth on my plate and walk out with a full belly, not having to go another 16 miles to finish eating at McDonald's, like I did that day. Happy...
Read moreThe Corner Table has been open about 16 months now and only gets better and better. Let's get the basics out of the way...service and price. Service is top notch. The servers truly care about your experience and will bend over backwards to make sure you are satisfied. Price is extraordinary reasonable considering that you're getting true home cooking. So let's talk about why you go out to eat...the food. Its fabulous! From their Vintage burger (a classic, hand pressed, half pound burger on a brioche bun) to their sirloin steak (cut in house and cooked to your liking) their food is done right. The menu is large but not overwhelming and features appetizers such their beloved onion petals (like a blooming onion with less mess) and spinach artichoke dip as well as favorite sandwiches like the Texas Jax burger, patty melt, BLT and the Klucker (a citrus brined grilled or fried chicken sandwich) and more. If you're really hungry go for their chicken fried steak, made from a New York Strip and cut in house! They offer soup, salad and weekend specials! Hungry for breakfast? Then you're in luck. The Corner Table offers breakfast whenever they are open. Grab up a Country Benedict (eggs your way on top of sausage on top of a soft, fluffy biscuit all smothered in thick sausage gravy! Or try their delicious maple squares or cinnamon rolls! Get an endless cup of Thomas Hammer coffee or a pot of Revival Tea to go with and there is no better way to start your day! Trust me when I say that the Corner Table is the best restaurant around for 50 miles and well worth the drive...
Read moreIt has been a year since I last reviewed Corner Table and I have to say that I'm still in love with the place. Why? Food, staff, and owner involvement! Let's start with the food. I think by now I have tried everything on the menu and nothing disappoints. The portions are large to extra large and almost everything is made in house. Their burgers are seasoned carefully using their own blend then made into 8oz portions before being grilled to the customer's desired doneness. Sirloin steaks are cut in house and they make their own fries, jojos and breakfast potatoes. They use Boars Head meats and cheeses in their sandwiches and make their own au jus, tartar, ranch and fry sauce...who does that???
Breakfast at the Corner Table is no joke either. They just added a loaded scramble. Three toppings of your choice, breakfast potatoes and a fluffy biscuit mean you're going to be a happy diner.
Fair warning, it can be chilly in winter. They have added fireplaces and space heaters but need to reinsulate the roof to solve the problem...something planned for warmer weather. If you are cold, ask for a blanket (always washed between customers) or see if a space heater can be brougt closer. The staff and owners are happy to accommodate.
This wouldn't be complete without telling you that the staff and owners are truly committed to your enjoyment. They will do everything can to ensure your dining experience is an excellent one.
Give Corner Table a try today. The restaurant is quite simply the place to get excellent food at a...
