We got excited when we saw there was a winery AND a brewery together. Then we go in and our excitement plummeted. First off, trying to ask the woman behind the bar questions was non-existent. She was checking the ID of one of us (both very clearly over the age of 40) and snapped when we asked a question - clearly unable to do 2 things at once. Next, we asked about the size of the beer samples. She wasn't sure if they were 1 or 1-1/2 ounce pours. But they were 6 for $6. 6 to 9 ounces for $6 when a full pint is only $4? Sorry but that is completely out of line. Most breweries charge $2 for a 4 ounce pour or even less when getting a flight. Beyond the pricing, the wines were "ok" and actually a little better than 'ok' for the pricing. A very fruity Chardonnay for under $15. All the other wines I tasted were decent and fairly priced by the bottle If I was just going in to buy a bottle of wine and not for a tasting, and did not have to deal with the woman there, this would be an OK place to go. But compared to all the other wineries and breweries I have been to, that is NOT a high star place and one I will not...
Read moreMerry Family Winery is a very cool, relaxing place to enjoy a number of beverages or a great oven fire pizza. We stopped by on our way to the Bob Evans Farm Festival, and apparently several others had the same plan, because they were very, very busy. Even with as busy as they were, service was quick and friendly. We tried a couple of flights to see what we enjoyed, as well as a great pizza.
The location is very relaxing, with several different seating options both inside and outside. The water feature next to their outdoor patio area makes for some nice white noise, and I'd be surprised if they didn't have people nodding off for a nap now and then. Overall it's just a very nice place to spend an hour or so and unwind with a drink.
Even if you don't like wine, they also have several beer options, as well as a house-made root beer that is delicious, with an excellent vanilla flavor.
We will definitely be back to visit again, this was a very cool place and I'd recommend it to anyone who would like a nice quite place to have a drink or two on a...
Read moreWe are on a trip to visit a sick family member. We pulled in to this winery to change drivers. While doing that a drink fell. I cleaned it up and put it in the trash. The lady came out yelled at me to pick it up because it was a "decoration" I asked if she had a trash can inside to which she replied " for paying customers".At this point a bit frazzled and take trash back out to car. As we are preparing to drive off a man comes to tell us something on top of car I get it and get back in car. He proceeds to open my car door and demand I pick up a napkin that dropped which I did He then tries to open my car door again. At that point I quickly lock the door and he is yelling at me. I was truely scared. Never had anything like this happen before. Do not do business here. These...
