It was my birthday. They don't offer anything for your birthday. We drove an hour to get there. Stopped at Hells Hollow Falls along the way. That was a nice hike to the falls.. I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a very long time. On the menu there were a lot of different choices to choose from so it took a while to read everything. There were a lot of hot spicy foods that I cannot eat. The menu was a little confusing to understand. Prices next to the item may not be what you would pay because if you wanted to add say onions.. I think everything you want to add was a dollar or two extra for each item..not sure but that's what it looked like to me.. like I said it was confusing and I was being treated by a friend so I didn't wanna ask plus I did not see the bill when it came.. It's not as good as I thought it would be. If you're a picky eater or watching your healthy food choices you probably won't like this place.. But we had good service and our food was hot . That's important to me. Nothing like getting served cold food that was prepared hot. I did like the chocolate cream cake It was a nice size piece..and the spinach dip was very cheesy. Different than I've ever had before. My French onion soup was also very cheesy good and hot but a little too salty for my taste. I didn't take a picture of the zucchini fries..but they were actually very good except you didn't get very much for the price.. My French dip did Not have enough meat and it was not spread over the bun equally. Half my hoagie was almost empty of meat but you don't think to open up your hoagie to double-check and make sure the meat is spread properly the picture is deceiving..the dip sauce was way too salty. I couldn't dip my bread..also I thought I read in another review they had baked apple dumplings ? But they did not. So sad. I really wanted one..So I can check this off my bucket list. I don't plan on going back. But I enjoyed the trip up and back. I'm glad I made the long...

Devyn was in her second anniversary as server and she did a terrific work attentive to our needs without neglecting other customers seated at the bar. The restaurant was packed and so we decided to eat at the bar. Very good looking place, Devyn told us it used to be an Inn with several rooms upstairs but now used for administrative offices as they actually have several restaurants in the area. We were very pleased with the choices and her conversation. Also learned good deal of touristic attraction nearby -the waterfall next door and the recently conversion of a next business into a microbrewery that is seated at the top of one side of the waterfall (see pictures) and for that she gets extra kudos. Parking lot adjacent to the building is plentiful yet, they have a gravel lot across the street that combined seems to hold up to 60+ vehicles. The roadhouse was packed. And now we know why. Their food choices is healthy and varied and their servers are happy employees. We made a note to repeat in future trips...
Read moreI travel for work and spend a good deal of time in a variety of restaurants all over the Midwestern and Northeastern US. I wasn't feeling very hungry so i ordered 1/2 lb of wings and requested that they were lightly done as I don't like my wings crispy. When they came out, they were very small, cooked to a level resembling chicken jerky on a bone, and certainly not anywhere near 1/2 lb. After reminding the waitress that I had requested them lightly done, I was informed that they are precooked earlier in the day and then dropped in the fryer when ordered to assure they are served in a timely manner. If I wanted fast food, I would have went and got some Mcnuggets. At least they're tender. It would have been nice to know they cannot be lightly done at the time of ordering. I also ordered a "vegetable medley" that was supposed to include red skinned potatoes, squash, parsnips, and red onion. When it was served, there was absolutely no squash or red onions in it. It was tasty but lacking the advertised ingredients. I couldn't eat the wings in the condition served so I sent them back without replacement. In their defense, they did take both items off the bill. It's a shame. My past experiences here have not been this bad. My wife faired a little better with a generous portion of fried fish, but apparently frozen sweet...
