When we came into the restaurant there was no hostess at the door or at the stand by the door. We had waited for over 10 minutes for someone to come and help us. There was a group of local police officer sitting at a table and sauce one of the officers got up and helped us to a table since my daughter is in a wheelchair. We had to get our own menus and our own silverware. We waited for over 10 minutes for someone to show up to take our order. Another staff member came by today at the table and said your server will be here in a few minutes and left.
I should say when we came in the section that we were in was empty except for the officers sitting at the table down from us. Also the bar area by us was empty also. We waited another 5-6 minutes for someone to come take our order. In the meantime there are customers coming through the door looking for someone at the hostess stand who is not there to help them out. Again the customers take the menus and their silverware that they need than leave to go find a table to sit down at.
after the staff comes and takes our order. More customers are coming in and wondering where the greeter is. Now you have more than 4 people waiting for the hostess/greeter. We have placed our order and wait for the drinks. Drinks finally come and when the server Finds are table again brings back wrong Order for me. This is happening all between 11:30 and 1:30 p.m., I will consider this a busy time for them and lunch crowd. Staff should be aware that they might be busy at these times and can help somebody At the greeting station to show customer to there seats. Where they would not have to sit out there and wait, nor would they have to get their own menus and your own silverware. They also must be short-staffed because occasionally we see our waitress come back and check and see if we are okay. She is very neatly dressed and she acts like she is very busy. But the first two I saw I would say the gentleman needs to spruce up a bit for his job not have his white T-shirt hanging out the back in and not wear a sweat jacket here at his job while he's on the job. I have seen on the reviews for people have said this is very very nice place to come to but in my opinion they need to reorganize after busy hours that have appropriate staff for their customers. So the customer doesn't have to see themselves and wait for maybe somebody to show up and...
Read moreOur party of four went for the seafood buffet. Two ordered the buffet and two ordered from the menu. The salad bar is not the greatest in terms of selection but most of the popular salad bar items are there. The seafood buffet had snow crab, fried shrimp, fried clams (I didn't try it), fried catfish, and a baked white fish. The hot bar had frog legs, twice baked potato, macaroni and cheese, and prime rib. The sides were better than anticipated, the prime rib was under seasoned (IMO), the crab was great. The friend shrimp was good. There were a couple soup options, but I didn't try those. There was one dessert option available. I didn't try that either.
The menu service was pretty slow, but the place was pretty busy. I was impressed with the way the buffet stayed stocked. The service was great. The bar was very fast. I had no complaints with the buffet food. My husband ordered a chicken meal and said it was under seasoned. I would definitely go back for the buffet and...
Read moreIt was our first time eating at Mordecai's and we were very disappointed. We arrived around 5:30pm on Saturday, 10-9-21 and there was no wait. After looking at the menu, we chose the seafood buffet. The selection was small for the price. ($24.95 for an adult) Salmon, frog legs, fried shrimp, fried catfish, and roast beef were the choices. The fried catfish was the only item that was hot and fresh and while we were eating the waitress told us they just put the last of it on the buffet. The Salmon was mushy and the shrimp was overcooked. During our meal, we were told that they usually have clam strips and crab legs on the buffet, but they have not been getting their supply. The quality of the food and small selection were simply not worth the price or the drive to Springfield, Ky. We do not plan to return...
