This was a nice little restaurant that I would have never considered if it hadn't been for a friend of mine. We met here for lunch, and I must say I did come back here again. The atmosphere was great for a small town bar. Plenty of parking in the lot and it doesn't feel crowded for lunch time. The atmosphere inside was welcoming and enjoyable and not like your pushed in a certain area . It's all open. The times I've been here has only been around lunch and I've never felt crowded or pushed or rushed or had a bad experience. Had the reuben and tater tots and it was a very filling meal. If I'm ever or around the bar again, I will visit this place more. I might even go out of my way when going to St Cloud. It's easy on and off Interstate 94. It's like a 10 minute drive south from the interstate on 23.

What a gem!

I’ve lived in St. Cloud area for 15 years, and have driven by The Hayloft countless times. A friend who lives nearby mentioned how good their burgers are, so I had to give it a try.

The interior is spacious and is comfortably laid out. There is a large bar that was pretty busy with what I assume to be regulars. The vibe is really welcoming. A large number of tables, for dining are situated, are situated throughout the establishment. There are a number of televisions in view to watch your favorite team play.

There was tolerable country music playing in the background (not too loud)… As one who loathes modern country music, the tunes did not get on my nerves.

The service was EXCELLENT. The server who greeted us was leaving, however, she left a dish of cookies and candy for our kids as the server who replaced her was occupied.

The food was excellent. I had a very good 1/3 lb. patry melt. It was perfect.

As someone raised in Ottertail County, I recall dining at several similar restaurants (most that no longer exist - like The Greystone on Ottertail Lake) growing up. The Hayloft is reminiscent of them… but better.

We will...

I hadn't been there in years and although I hear they are under new ownership, they really have a lot to be desired. Food was good but our orders were so messed up and so were all the tabs. We had to have the waitress redo everyone's bills correctly. 2 people in our group (including myself)still didn't have their food by the time the rest of the group was done eating and we had to go ask about it two different times. It seemed as though it was the waitress's first day on the job even though I know it wasn't. It took her 10-15 min to bring our drinks after ordering and a couple people had to go and get there own drinks since she didn't bring them. She also never once apologized for forgetting drinks or messing things up. The owner did apologize and gave us 10% off, but I was not very satisfied with that. I'm not usually one to complain or write a review, but felt it was totally necessary after that kind of service........we will not...
