First of all I would honestly give this place a half of a star if I could. If you’re a person of color please do not go to this place. I recently visited this gyro that’s close to the YMCA and near technical community college and unfortunately I’ve encountered a disappointing incident related to racism. It is crucial to shed light on this issue to ensure awareness and hold establishments accountable for their actions. During my visit, I witnessed a disturbing incident where a staff member displayed blatant racial discrimination towards a customer of a different ethnicity. The incident unfolded when the customer was subjected to offensive remarks and given subpar service compared to other guests. This behavior was unacceptable and completely tarnished the dining experience. What’s funny about this is that the guy didn’t even wanna give me my food even after paying. I tried to dine in they said no. But the other ppl of different color were allowed to dine in. Just because a certain group of people did one thing wrong does that give you guys the right to treat others differently and on top of that why is it only the people who look like those type of kids are the ones that are getting treated like this. This is honestly sad Just because we share the same skin color we get...
Read moreI love a good Gyro. Well here at NY Gyros location you can get just that. The overall taste and texture is all there given what you add to it. When I opened my Gyro right away I knew I was about to get messy. The contents then pita was holding just overwhelmed it. Now the pic might not show it, but the meat was well portioned and the veggies I had laced on it just mesh well with the whole thing along with their tzatziki sauce. It was just a mouth full of flavor with each bite. Which by the end of it made me wish I ordered 2. I got philly cheese steak which was decent but nothing to brag or write about. However the cheese and tzatziki sauce fries was a unique combination that somehow worked really well. While I was put off with the sound of the order it didn't stop me from enjoying the whole box full of it. Now the distribution of the cheese and sauce wasn't a cheap pour they made sure each and every corner and fry got hit with the sauce, so you're not just thinking it's a plain fry with sauce in here. It is just smothered. Definitely looking forward...
Read moreEdit: I wanted to update my review after going there today. I still love this place but was disappointed with the changes they made with portion size. Used to be 3x the amount of meat and rice for under $10 now it’s barely enough food for a meal and about $12. Sad to say I won’t be back anytime soon. Also a gripe from the past is they don’t ever make a call in order so if you wanted a Philly cheese you have to wait in there for a minimum of 15 minutes. And the samosas used to be cooked in a warmer ready, now they weren’t cooked and you would also have to wait for them to fry them....
