Kalmes Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in St. Donatus

Stopped in for a family lunch with about 20 of us after a funeral. They got us seated right away even though we were about a hour early. Menu is enormous anyone should be able to find a choice to try. Enjoyed a nice appetizer combo. Bison burger was good and juicy French fry serving was a little light. Daughter enjoyed her patty melt as well. They also have a dessert selection if you like. Service was fast considering our large group. Lots of photos on the walls of the local historical sights. We had Kalmes cater our 300 person wedding last weekend and I received raving reviews from all who attended. I originally booked them about a year and a half ago and since then inflation has made food prices soar. Despite that, Kalmes never came back to try and raise my rates or give me less than we agreed to. We left with tons of leftover food despite many of our guests making multiple trips to the buffet line, and the food was piping hot and delicious. Had dinner here tonight (9/17/22). We were celebrating my son and my nieces birthdays. The food was great and our waitress was amazing. Kalmes is one of my favorite restaurants, and we live about an hour away. We'll worth the hour drive. Prime rib was excellent tonight. Great salad bar. Really nice, simple atmosphere. We have had good food and good service every time we stop in. I believe our waitresses name was maybe Laura? I believe she was one of the owners? Sorry if I got that wrong.. Anyway she was awesome and made the night very enjoyable for us...
