The barbecue here is top notch. This little hole in the wall place is always packed, and the old blues and rock played is so cool. I always get the brisket stuffed potato. But hey here's a couple of draw backs. The tables and chairs, are cheap and old. I'm not exactly sure why they don't do something about it, but the place is continuously filled with the strong smell of put smoke and when you leave all your clothes strongly, smell like it. Not to mention, old man Jake himself, it a total A hole. The man doesn't know the meaning of customer service, and has the most assanine sense of humor I've ever...

First time over at St. Gabriel's Big Jakes BBQ! Great place at a great location because our beloved plant workers love their BBQ. I got the chopped brisket sandwich with 2 sides($17.50 - a little steep). The meat was perfectly cooked in my opinion. The bread was carefully detailed with a great consistency. I was disappointed that they were out of baked beans. They saved themselves with their potato salad. AMAZING. Customer service was great and the atmosphere was pretty fitting. Will definitely be coming back to try their sausage and ribs and BANANA...

Went here during lunch. It is very popular among local plant workers. I paid about $20 for a plate with 2 meats and 2 sides. The pulled pork was decent. The brisket, was way too dry and left a lot to be desired. The portion sizes were somewhat small, but I attached a picture so you can be your own judge. There are two different BBQ sauces available l, Original and Six Shooter. Six Shooter is a spicy BBQ sauce. Authentic BBQ choices in the area are scarce, so hit them up if that’s what you are looking for, maybe the brisket will be better...

Had the chance to experience an awesome BBQ plate from BIG JAKE'S BBQ! Was working traveling to Saint Gabriel, La in the Big Rig delivering a load and after leaving the refinery saw a sign that said BBQ 2 blocks down on the right. It was the best 2 blocks down on the right decision I made on today! If you are ever in the area stop by BIG JAKE'S BBQ the food is delicious, potato salad so good and brisket so tender and seasoned! Thanks Spike Graham for your hospitality!!
