The Landing at the Bend — Restaurant in St. Hilaire

Lovely staff! Very nice people and good food. My only issue is that they definitely gave me food poisoning. I know it was them because the only other thing I ate all day were those pre-wrapped Hostess brand powdered donuts that you get at a gas station. I went tubing nearby and stopped drinking at 6:30, then went to their establishment for food and water. After I got home, I took a nap to sober up, but ended up puking at 11 p.m., 4 and a half hours after my last drink. I assumed I drank too much (I had five seltzers in a 2.5-3 hour span as a 6-foot-tall woman, but am still a bit of a lightweight).

However, I have been vomiting every hour and a half or so since then, which is why I'm writing this review at 4:30 in the morning. I spent a good couple of hours dozing in and out of sleep on the bathroom floor. Other symptoms included chills, cold sweats, nausea, fatigue, and a persistent headache. I am, finally, feeling a bit better! I'm still a little sick but I'm hoping that the puking has subsided. In conclusion, whatever I got from them kicked in after 4 hours and seemed to only have lasted for about 6 hours. The silver lining; I could have gotten something a lot worse.

If I'm being honest, I am a little bit peeved at the establishment, but they were nice people and I know this mistake wasn't intentional. If they do happen to read this, I hope that they're just a bit more careful with their...

I never really leave a negative review but here we go… it was our first time there, we sat for a few minutes and was met by our server (she wore glasses with her hair in a bun) she never introduced herself. Took our order and was never seen again. We asked for refills from the gentlemen running the food because she didn’t ever stop by to ask for anything, even when our food showed up. I’ve noticed she focused more on the “bigger” tables. Overheard her asking for refills if they wanted to order ice cream and even took their payment at the table while bringing over take home containers. When the wife had enough and walked over so we can order our ice cream, give us our bill and a to go container.. I hope the 20% tip goes to the boys who helped and apologize for our poor service. We will try it again or just seek out the food truck instead, and if we get the same server I’ll request that we get a different one. So wonderful it is hard to describe. Our first time coming here we came a few minutes before close, we thought it closed an hour later than it did. We were walking away when they hollered and said they'd be happy to have us, that never happens in the restaurant business. We decided to stay, and they kept inviting others in too. I had the Chicken Philly with Hatch Chiles and Island Fries, awesome! We went back almost every weekend during the summer, I'm really getting anxious to get my fix in as spring is coming soon.
