Oh my...how the former wonderful has fallen! Lupe is sad to report that this formerly wonderful restaurant is now a shadow of it's former self. CHESAPEAKE LANDING was a great Family seafood and meat dining experience with the best homemade food. Now it tastes like mediocre food served fresh from anumber 10 Sysco cans, heated and served...no flavor, spices, or anything like the original down home Eastern Shore of MD restaurant it was. The crab Cakes which were great? meh. Lobster Dinners? The poor things have zero flavor and taste as though they were steamed in some broken down Sauna and then MICROWAVED! Lupe could go on. and now the previously deliscious and generous portioned Deserts are now embarassingly small and just overpriced for the current quality. Service is usually good....depending on the MOOD of your Server. Service can be spotty. The carry out counter Servers are usually good, especially a young lady named Rianna(!). She knows what she's doing and does it well and is an asset! HOWEVER...it has a wonderful carryout Seafood counter with a nice variety of Fish, Scallops, Shrimp, Clams, and unquestionably the BEST in season Fresh OYSTERS and STEAMED CRABS (or you may get them uncooked and do it yourself). Now these are also expensive but the Quality is definitely worth it! CHESAPEAKE LANDING does an amazing Fresh Seafood carry out business ...for a good reason! Lupe and the Sargeant always carry out and Lupe prepares and is a divine cook! Word of advice? Get your Fresh Lobster steamed to order at GIANT in Easton. You always get the SIZE and freshness you order (which has definitely NOT happend at CL. Please owners...you had/have a very successful restaurant and are still usually packed and busy but that will change if you do not make the effort to make it genuinely Eastern Shore Home Made and COOKED Dining! Please start caring again and take it back!!!
UPDATE 8 SEPTEMBER 2023!!! woooops. I said in my above Review how Great the Seafood Carryout is! Well, my precious Seafood lovers that too changeD 2 nights ago. On the way home the Colonel and Lupe decided to stop for Fresh Crabmeat....and it was amazing! HOWEVER...Lupe also got a 1/2 lb container of their SHRIMP SALAD!!! When I OPENED and TASTED I was hit by the smell of Chlorine! Well, Lupe has had some chlorinated Shrimp before. but unfortunately Lupe was so hungry she made a sandwich...MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE! And Lupe has suffered that several time in her Culinary Experiences! Not pretty! Then Lupe used that wonderful Google thingy and asked about "Shrimp that smells like CHLORINE"...
"Ammonia like smell in shrimp means that the shrimp in question had not been fresh and the protein in shrimp had undergone putrefaction, a process by which the protein of the shrimp is broken down into amines by bacteri"
SHAME ON YOU CHESAPEAKE LANDING!!!! SHAME FOR MAKING A BUCK OFF OF ROTTEN SEAFOOD! in the words of the Colonel..."SHAPE UP"! the Talbot County Board of Health does not cotton to old rotten food. Neither does...

Read moreFirst time eating at Chesapeake Landing. Group of 3 adults, 1 pre-teen. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was very nice and comfortable. We went early on Sunday afternoon, so there was virtually no crowd when we arrived. We were greeted friendly and seated immediately. Our server was polite, but seemed less than enthusiastic. She answered any questions that we had directly, but didn't take the time to volunteer any information or to explain anything beyond what we asked. We overheard the server at the next table and she was fantastic. When she found out that it was her guests first time there, She took the time to explain the menu options, gave recommendations and checked on them throughout the meal. Our server checked on us once, but it was so long after we began eating that we were virtually done with the meal.
The food quality was rather disappointing. Our appetizer of Crabmeat Potato Skins was subpar at best. Dried out and overcooked as if they were prepared for someone else earlier, then reheated (overcooking them and drying them out) and served to us. We didn't bother to finish then as none of us were satisfied with them. The bread that was initially brought to the table was cold. We asked another server if that was intentional and she said that it wasn't and brought us more bread. The cornbread was rather delicious so we were all glad for the warmed up bread. 2 out of 4 of the entrees were satisfactory (1 being the kids meal). The other 2 entrees were uninspiring at best and not something that we would order again.
As we were leaving, we observed that the restaurant was beginning to get busier. It's apparent that it's a popular spot, but for our individual and collective tastes, the whole experience...
