Minnesota Wing King — Restaurant in St. Peter

I was really excited to try this place out from hearing all the rant and rave about it. Im pretty big wing connoisseur, so thats what i was planning on getting here. First pulled in and the roof was so dirty, they pressure washed "wing king" which my party thought was pretty chringy... The service was actually pretty good, got checked on multiple times and very friendly which is why im leaving two stars. But everyone goes to restaurants for the food. A large selection of sauces to choose from, however you can only get one sauce for every order, or you can get plain wings and order as many sauces as you want. I don't understand why the cooks cant split up the order into sperate bowls and put sauce on them. The sauces were pretty watery and didn't stick onto the wings very well. I had order Carolina bbq and mango habanero. The Carolina bbq was ok, and i never got to taste the mango habanero because i was given raspberry jalapeno instead. Which i wasnt a huge fan of. I did get the boneless wings because the traditional were $12 for 6 wings... The boneless wings were exactly like McDonald's chicken nuggets. My party got honey bbq (was straight honey), parmesan garlic (similar to bdubs sauce), and honey mustard (identical to burger king honey mustard).. the ranch sauce was actually really good... The entire menu seemed really expensive with a plain cheese burger being over $10. Honestly Im really let down, and maybe try the daily specials next time i decide to give it another chance; which is what their social media posts are all about... I read the reviews, so I had to try it. Just like the other reviews said, even on a packed Friday night, service was impressive. Our server was always smiling and you couldn't tell they had zero seats left. We tried the habenero mango wings, I can't handle super spicy and these were great, not too much heat! Then we had the 4 meat platter $42 for sausage, ribs, brisket and pulled pork plus bread, beans, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese!!!! You could easily feed a family of 4 ! All or it delicious. I'll post a picture. The wings arw very crispy. My favorite was the sausage and Mac and cheese. We might go back 2 days in a row. I heard the burgers are great too!

update* There were so many choices, we ended up going Saturday night too! Very packed, we sat at the bar because it was faster seating. The bar tender couldn't have been more on top of it! He checked in on us very often, had recommendations- phenomenal service again! We went with the burgers. I had a balcon cheeseburger, my hubby had the green olive burger. He had the asparagus for his side and these were the BEST BURGERS WEVE EVER HAD. they are quite large. We could only eat half. The asparagus...

Was really excited to try some good BBQ, and seeing the menu made me even more hungry. HOWEVER, food came out cold. Not warm. Not edible. It was kindly asked to be sent back to warm it up a bit. It immediately came back out in the hands of the "owner" and he explained to us that he "tempted it" and went on to show us the temp gauge as it came out to 115 degrees. Meats were cold to the touch, cheese would not melt, sides were cold. He argued repeatedly, "I tempted it". We were told it would not come out any warmer, no matter what. Food was refused, and owner was not happy, and showed it. Hubby refused the food, I took mine home in a box to warm in my own microwave. Others at our table had same treatment. No food eaten there, all taken home to reheat. Needed the restroom...big mistake...just ...ewww.. Businesses fail for much less. I hope whatever the issue is, they get it figured out. Great idea, bad execution. Wait staff was great. Will NEVER go back. When an owner argues with the customer over & over and we finally said stop...I don't want the food...the Business is doomed . Please don't waste...
