I was with a group of eight men and we came for the Friday Fish Fry. The service was good and the all you can eat fish fry was also very good. The fish "refills" were quickly delivered. It seems like this is a popular spot with the local Iron River area folks. There was a mix of customers present from a couple of families with young children to more mature couples.
I was disappointed that they did not have Malt Vinegar available for the fried fish. Perhaps not commonly used in this region, many of you will miss that condiment.

We stopped by on our way to Gladstone after a long adventurous day hiking and viewing waterfalls in the western UP. We were sweaty, muddy, and happily towing along my Australian Shepherd who was somehow not as muddy as her people, but still smelled a bit "doggy" if you know what I mean. We chose this pub because they advertised outdoor seating, specifically for all of the reasons I just listed. Very, very poor dining experience. We waited nearly an hour and a half for our meal and when it came, the food was cold. How can that be? It wasn't very busy in the place. I can accept the long wait if the food would have been hot, but it obviously had been sitting for awhile before it was brought to us. We had such high hopes considering the new ownership.
We ended up going to the Wooden Nickel where the food came hot, fresh, and fast.
