Young's FireBrick Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Stambaugh Township

This is an edit: Since writing my first review Young’s has exceeded leaps and bounds over their inconsistent service. It’s has now become a place that I, my girlfriend and her kids look forward too. From the service to the food they have proven consistency as an excellent place for food and service.

I have been going to Young’s for about 4 years now. I have a membership at the pool and on the right night enjoy myself. With that said. The biggest problem Young’s has is inconsistent service/food quality.

Some visits everything thing is amazing. Food is good and servers nailed it. Other nights it is the complete opposite. Food will be nowhere near the same quality or you literally have to track people down and ask to be served after waiting forever just to get a drink order taken.

12/3/2024 at 7:45 pm after using the pool my girlfriend suggested we get dinner at the bar. I was actually opposed because I pointed out some of our past experiences and just wanted to have a relaxing evening. She talked me into heading to the bar. Upon walking in, there were three servers at the bar. Not a single one said a word to us. We sat down and the blonde female server gave us a dirty look and rolled her eyes. Still not a single word was said to us. I got up and told my girlfriend we’ll go spend our money elsewhere. We went to Innfield where the service is always amazing. And there is no question about the food.

For what you spend at Young’s I would expect more. I wouldn’t go out of your way to be disappointed. This is one of many weird hit or miss situations. The pool is awesome and super clean. And when the food and service are good it’s great. But too many times have I had horrible experiences to justify gambling $100 on food and...

I always have enjoyed coming to George Young's Recreational Facility either to utilize the pool and dry sauna but this was the first time I ate here at the FireBrick restaurant at the facility and man was the food great. My wife and myself celebrated our anniversary and what a splendid time we had. I ha the seafood gumbo and it was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating and the service was fantastic. Our servers Mitchell and Ariel were very attentive to our needs and Mitchell even showed enthusiastic initiative. When my wife asked Mitchell about the ingredients of rustic potato soup and Mitchell was unsure, instead of trying to dazzle us with bullcrap he went directly to the chef and got the answer for us. To me that shows dedication which is something that I value a great deal. I will continue to recommend George Young's to my friends including the FireBrick restaurant. Had a reservation for 6pm for a party of 12 and we were seated right away, no problem. Wait staff took our drink order, no problem. Wait staff delivered drinks and then immediately took our food order, no problem. Wait staff was never to be seen again. Two hours later, yes that is right, 8pm, we asked for the manager. We asked where our food was and manager stated that the kitchen had not even started our meals yet. People who came in after us received their food, the bar area was pushing food quickly but our food had not been started? Just unacceptable. We canceled our entire check. Manager stated that she would comp our drinks but we had been going to the bar for them as the Wait staff had not come back, so we already had paid for the drinks at the bar. What a shame.
