White's Beach Tavern — Restaurant in Standish Township

Very disappointed. White beach tavern used to be such a relaxed, fun, people pleasing place to grab dinner or drinks at. I’ve been in multiple times over the last year+ and have yet to have good service. Twice I have walked in on a weekend night around 10pm with around 10 others already in the bar and greeted with “one and done”. I’m never sure if their hours because when I come in it seems as if they’re trying to get people to leave so they can go home. The bartenders drink during their shift and then only want to serve me 1? The last time I dined in with my family the new server was alone on a holiday weekend with an almost full restaurant and completely full bar - so none of this was her fault. My families order was messed up and the cook told her the kitchen was closed, so even though we only had half our food it wasn’t his problem he was closing. What poor service and standards to have. I want to continue to go because we are local during the summers and what used to be known as Bob’s was always such a lovely place, so I’d like to continue to honor him, but unfortunately I have yet to be treated like a customer should. Shame on the new management and owners for allowing this type of establishment. I sure hope things...

Absolutely yummy fish fry on Friday nights!! It's not an "all-you-can-eat," but they give you four huge pieces of fish, along with either fries or a big baked potato, and coleslaw. The combo plate of lake perch and whitefish is awesome. You won't leave hungry. They have a Friday menu, and they have a rest-of-the-week menu. On Fridays, they focus on fish and seafood and generous fried appetizers. (I have posted the menus.) Generous pours from the bartender, too. There is also some outside seating, mostly picnic tables, with a great view of Saginaw Bay. This is kind of off the beaten path, but it's worth the trip. It is a local "dive bar" that has been in business for decades and decades. Casual decor, casual dress.

June 13th 2025 UPDATE: My perch dinner (including a baked potato with sour cream and coleslaw) was wonderful. The fries on my dinner partner's shrimp basket could have spent additional time swimming in the oil. Drinks were tasty, prices...

If you want the seafood menus, make sure you arrive on a Friday. This was my error for not reading the reviews or calling ahead to ask. Based on the reviews of other customers, the food isn’t the best. I can’t make a choice by others though.

Our waitress was quick to provide our drinks (Makayla - sorry if i spelt I it wrong). It was a quiet time - 3:30pm, so we didn’t have really have to wait. The music that was playing was appreciated. The bar itself looks like a bar, they have keno, pool tables, the norm. The view is amazing though. Keep I mind I’m not from this area, so water is the best thing in the world.

The tacos we ate were pleasant, but it was a average taco for a bar. My only issue which is minimal is the amount of flys where we were sitting. I attached an image.

I will come back and hope to enjoy the amazing service...
