Country Village Catfish and Seafood — Restaurant in Star City

The Village is a out of the ordinary experience. It's a village with several shops, stores, and restaurants. Good food. It was a seafood buffet so it was fast. Drink service was fast. No adult drinks at this place. The frog legs are really good. Boil shrimp was good. Catfish is good but a step below Prairie county big hitter like Murray's, Dondi's, & Big K's. Gumbo was about the best I've had at a restaurant in arkansas. A solid B+. Soft serve ice cream was really good. Cobblers of several options to go with it. Chicken strips was cooked absolutely perfect+++ I usually don't even get often. Boiled shrimp could be better. Crab cakes cooked perfect & very good. I was very excited to go here, but was very disappointed. The fish filets both fried and blackened tasty fishy, like low quality catfish. My husband had some of the catfish steaks he said they were better not muddy tasting. Everything was just a little too seasoned . The frog legs had no batter they were just weird. The fried shrimp was good and the boiled, hushpuppies good and the boudain balls. Gumbo was okay from a mix I think. Desserts were okay. For the price should be outstanding and it was not. Friendly and nice staff. Great hospitality. Love the spacious seating arrangement. The food was not what I expected. I didn't like that the fish was spicy and when I ask for non spicy battered fish it was still spicy. Buffett was not attended to keep fresh food and restock condiments that is not on table.
