Idaho Sushi Company — Restaurant in Star

Literally the best customer service and best sushi I’ve ever had at an awesome price and super fast. I’ve never had people be so kind before nor have I seen food service workers hustle like these guys do. I used to pay WAY too much for tiny little rolls from Kona Grill but thank goodness I saw a sign for Idaho Sushi Company and never looked back.

The rolls are delicious and huge! I’m always left hungry with a roll from Kona or other places but not Idaho Sushi Company. You can tell they want to provide quality sushi at a great price and satisfy their customers, it’s not 100% about making a profit like other places. I could not recommend a better restaurant and there’s literally no where better in Star, Middleton, or Eagle to eat.

I hope they thrive and begin to have longer hours and become a permanent business in town because I’ll cry if they ever leave. We have nothing in Star so we need to patronize the GOOD businesses that we do have to make sure we not only keep them in business but help them be super successful. The first week I found them, I ordered every single nite, now I go at least once a week.

The sushi itself is decent and is one of the better options in the valley. While the menu lacks a bit of depth and distinction (there are just a bunch of variants of a few rolls) the rolls have good flavor. If you are local to Star, this place is a must try.

Do beware that this place can get busy and your order could be significantly delayed. This is not a, “I’m going to pick up sushi really quick on my way to…” place. You will need to plan ahead (as much as an hour sometimes). The few times I was frustrated with this place was partially due to the order being delayed quite a bit.

The owner knows he has a monopoly in the area and counts on the fact that you want sushi more than you want a meal ready for pickup on time. The truth is, he is right. I choose to go to this place because the sushi is decent and it’s located in Star. Most of the time the sushi is worth the inconvenient wait time.

Ok, consider me IMPRESSED. Upon arrival I was like “ummmmm where are we!?” But this is such a cool concept. I prefer not sitting down in a restaurant currently as I have an unpredictable 2 y/o that sometimes has no chill. Take out is best for us. I was stoked when I saw an ad in the Middleton paper saying there was sushi available in Star. We ordered 5 different rolls on the square ordering site. Our order was brought out just a few mins after we arrived. The presentation was excellent, the rolls all tasted like they had top tier fresh ingredients and the variety was great. I consider myself a bit of a sushi snob as I have lived in some of the best culinary cities in America. 10/10 recommend. I almost didn’t want to review and tell everyone how great it is for selfish reason like having to wait long next time hahah.
