Powell's Dairy Freeze — Restaurant in Starke

I don’t generally take the time to leave negative reviews but I would not want anyone to waste there time or money and get treated like we were.

When we first arrived we were waiting in the car and served at the window. We were told there was no ice cream available. My kids were a little disappointed but it was no big deal, so we proceeded to order. As we were waiting my children started noticing people were receiving ice cream from the window. Of course they wanted some. I got out of the car and asked if we could put in a order for 4 milkshake’s because we where told they didn’t have any. She said yes but it would be a long wait. I asked if she would please put us to the top because we had wanted to order it when we first got there. She said sure. *At this point we had been waiting for 30min on a hamburger and fries. When the waitress brought the food out she said her boss got on to her for putting our milkshakes in front of everyone else's (although we were there before everyone else and wanted to order milkshakes at the start). 5.We ended up waiting a total of 45min to get served.

This is usually a special treat for us to stop and get a milkshake when going through Starke. This is somewhere my family has stopped for generations. The last several stops have been getting worse from the cleanliness, quality and service. Also, The bathroom was disgusting and had no soap, or paper towels.

We will NEVER be back unless the management changes. I am not sure who manages this place now but they definitely need some management and customer service skills like the people years ago had at this place. It is a shame to see what was once such a great place ran...

if I could give this place less than one star, I would. we pulled up, and a young lady came out immediately with a horrible attitude. She was neither friendly nor helpful... Just very obviously upset to have to do her job, & quite snippy with my family and me.

The burgers were so plain & flavorless, and the french fries were undercooked & mushy. The prices are astronomical for the amount of food you actually get, especially the french fries. and they don’t tell you that drinks don’t come with the meals, and are crazy expensive by themselves. we assumed they came w the meals, and ordered milkshakes as well. had the waitress told us, we’d have not gotten the drinks. The Milkshakes were pretty good, though. Nothing to write home about, but they were better than the rest of the food. For 3 adults & a child, we paid between $50-60 for food that wasn’t even a fraction of the quality of a mcdonald’s $3 cheeseburger & small fry deal. save yourself the trip & just go to mcdonald’s.

something needs to be done about that employee. I saw her taking orders at other cars as well, with the same atrocious customer service skills. then she’d walk back into the building & we could all see her just standing around looking bored while we...

I have been going here for 30+ years. I hope this place never shuts down. My Papa used to take me there once a week growing up. We always got a Peanut Butter milkshake. Powell's has the BEST Peanut Butter milkshakes hands down. Way better than Sonic or DQ. They have quite a few milkshake flavors. Sprite milkshake anyone? Along with the milkshakes they malts, cones, floats, and sundaes. They also have a foot long steak sandwich everyone raves about. Their shrimp boxes are delicious.Golden fried shrimp and fries filling the box up. The burgers are thick and juicy with the works. The prices are comparable to Sonic and DQ.Best of all is the vintage feel of the place. You drive up and roll down the window. A waitress will come to your window and take your order. Don't want to eat in your car? No problem, they also have covered picnic tables. Another option is to go to their window and order. I love this place. It's a great place to eat and make memories at...
